The Walking Dead Negan and Glenn box set is packaged in a window style box with artwork on the front, and sides, with images of other figures in both the 5″ and 7″ lines on back. Both Negan and Glenn are part of the 5″ line, and features blood splattered deco on their clothing that was added later on after the figures were revealed during New York ToyFair. The figures are based on the scene just after Daryl punches Negan after he brutally beats Abraham to death with his baseball bat, Lucille. Negan then in turns turns his attention onto Glenn, and reminds the group that the first one was free, and the second one would cost them. Glenn paid the price for Daryl’s actions as his friends, and pregnant wife, Maggie, kneeled helplessly in horror as Negan beat Glenn to death with Lucille. This was the groups introduction to Negan and the Saviors, showing their brutality and numbers.

Negan and Glenn are based on the likeness of Actors Jeffery Dean Morgan and Steven Yeun. The figures was created using 3D digital scans of the actors themselves. Negan is sculpted in his black leather jacket with a silver zipper, red scarf, black jeans, black boots, a brown left glove, and a brown belt. Glenn is sculpted in in a blue shirt with sculpted texture, grey pants, brown shoes, and there is a knife holster on his right hip, and a pistol holster harness around his chest. The paint applications on both figures are nicely done and the blood splatter stains their clothing. Negan’s baseball bat, Lucille, also includes blood splatter as it was used to beat Abraham’s skull in before he moved onto Glenn. The bat is wrapped with barbed wire and the bat can only fit onto one of the two included black gloved hand sculpts. The articulation on both figures is what you would expect from the 5″ line, which is also more than the 7″ Color Tops figures. Negan includes Lucille, an assault rifle, a pistol, and an alternate gloved hand sculpt. Glenn includes a pistol, a knife, an assault rifle, and a watch on a chain. Also included is a platform with sculpted detail and even a single peg  that is compatible with the bottom of their feet.

Overall, Negan and Glenn are excellent figures with great likenesses and detail. If you like the 5″ figure line, make sure you are doing your part and support this years offerings, as this tells McFarlane Toys and store buyers that there is still interest in this scale, and if it does well, McFarlane can offer more figures.
