The Animated Port Pop-Up backdrop is massive, measuring at roughly 39″ long, and features a sunset theme with a ship filled with shipping containers, a boardwalk with three sheets, and several sized containers that can be placed on top of it. The large containers come in red, blue and green, and each contain a side that resembles a doorway to open it. On the sides, there are black deco to make it look realistic, and there are some text and shapes as shown in the gallery. The medium boxes consist of a black wash over it, and is designed and painted to look like wooden boxes. The smaller boxes are light brown, and also resemble to look like wood. Each of the containers and boxes fold up to lay flat. The artwork on the backdrop is nicely done, and uses bright colors to represent an animated appeal. While the container use bright colors, the boxes and boardwalk are more realistic looking colors, and there is a nice contrast between the two.
The backdrop has folds that are visible, but probably unavoidable given the fact it needs to be folded back up for easy storage. One of the lines however runs through the sun, which isn’t as eye appealing as it should be given how detailed the artwork is. The boardwalk pieces come separately, so there is no need to fold those up.
Given the animated appearance, we went with animated style figures that we had readily available in our offices, which includes a number of figures from NECA Toys Predator and TMNT, Playmates Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 5″ figures, DC Collectibles: Batman The Animated Series, and Hasbro Transformers Titans Return.
Overall, the Animated Port Pop-Up diorama by Extreme-Sets is beautifully done, and we especially love the artwork, and style of it. This, and other sets are definitely needed to enhance your figure displays and photography.
