Goku is based on his appearance as seen in Dragon Ball Super, with sporting red hair in his Super Saiyan God form. To our understanding, this power is a level beyond the blue haired Super Saiyan God, and this form is the result of a Saiyan becoming able to use the power of Super Saiyan God without having to transform into the form itself. This form is only slightly different than his black hair non-Super Saiyan form, with the hair color changed to red, and a slight pink skin tone as seen in the series (this figure does not have the pink skin tone). Goku is sculpted in his iconic orange and blue uniform, with the orange and blue painted in a lighter shade than what has come before. The colors are inspired from the animated series, and he is also the brightest colored figure released to-date.

Goku is a newly tooled figure, and has some differences in sculpting compared to other figures that are similar to him. The most noticeable differences are with the torso, and he is also a little shorter than previous Goku figures. The sculpt features a bulky appearance and he is fully articulated as previously seen in similar sculpts. The sleeves in the shirt are separately sculpted pieces, and move with the articulation in the shoulders. This leaves gaps in the shirt, which is harder to fix, or even impossible compared with earlier figures.

The shirt and legs also have a black wash over it, which makes it look darker in spots compared to the bright colors. The ball joints on the legs are left bright orange, and do not have the wash over them, so they tend to stand out a little. It’s hardly noticeable from a distance, especially if you display him with other figures. The blue deco on the undershirt, wrists, and belt is nicely done. There is also blue and red deco on the boots, with the red around the trim and venter. The boots also have yellow deco on the heels, which have lines sculpted on the bottom. The shirt includes the Japanese writing as seen in the series, which is located on the front and back.

Included with Goku are four interchangeable facial expressions, and five sets of hand sculpts (10 total) for unlimited amounts of poses and display options.

Overall, Goku is an excellent figure that fans are sure to love. The paint apps, sculpt and accessories are nicely done, and he is a nicely constructed figure.
