Eaglemoss Star Trek: Voyager 10″ XL Edition Starship Review

Eaglemoss is expanding their Star Trek collection with a new Voyager starship based on the 1995-2001 television series, along with ships based on the latest television series, Star Trek: Discovery. Star Trek: Voyager ended with the crew returning to the Alpha Quadrant in the series finale, and the story continued on in books and later in Star Trek Online. Voyager fans can own a piece of Star Trek history, and Eaglemoss truly is offering a fantastic piece of craftsmanship here.

The USS Voyager NC-74656 was a 24th century Federation Intrepid-class starship operated by Starfleet. It was under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway, the Intrepid-class ship that steered a path home through the Delta Quadrant and seven seasons of Star Trek: Voyager. The starship has been carefully recreated in die-cast, high-quality ABS materials then hand-painted with an incredible level of detail.

Comes with an exclusive collector’s magazine that provides an in-depth profile of the ship, with detailed annotations, and a breakdown of the technology on board, its crew and weapons. Exclusive behind the scenes articles reveal how the ship was designed, complete with original design sketches.

Head on over to the Eaglemoss Shop for all of your collecting needs.

Thank you to Eaglemoss for providing their Star Trek: Voyager XL starship for review.

Voyager measures roughly 10″ long and 4″ wide, and is displayed on an acrylic stand with a base. Voyager is made of die-cast, and ABS plastic, and is based on the television series. The vessel is an Intrepid classic starship, and maintains its oval saucer as opposed to the rounded one that was used on the Enterprise. This starship is the largest version that Eaglemoss released to-date, and is longer, wider, and more detailed compared to the smaller version.

The vessel is painted in a light grey, and is packed with sculpted detail capturing the likeness and design of the ship. Many of the details are sculpted on the hull, with others being  hand painted. The name of the ship is located on the front of the saucer section, with the NCC-74656 identification under the U.S.S. Voyager text. The hull is detailed with various deco, which includes orange, yellow, dark grey, brown, black, and red. The nacelles outside the ship have a translucent blue plastic piece on the sides, which looks as though the warp core is powered up and ready to jump to warp.

The ship also features the deflector disc, which is painted in brown with blue around it. Also detailed is the bridge on the top, and the shuttle bay in the back. The identification of the ship is also located on the bottom of the nacelles, as well as the words Voyager and NCC-74656 on the bottom of the saucer section. For the most part, the ship has some weight to it, which is all due to the die-cast parts.

Included with Voyager is a collector’s magazine that gives an in-depth look at the interior of the ship, details on the characters and designs of the ship. For whatever reason, some core characters are not in the magazine, which includes Seven of Nine and the Borg Queen.

Overall, Eaglemoss has done an incredible job offering a detailed and enlarged version of Voyager, and Star Trek fans and collectors will love this update.
