The Batman Black And White Spy Vs. Spy As Batman Statue is based to look like the character as he appears in MAD Magazine, which originally debut in 1961. This statue showcases his likeness as he is disguised as the cape crusader, and was designed by the original cartoonist Peter Kuper. The statue stands at roughly 7 1/2″ tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the hat, and is made of poly resin.

Spy Vs. Spy is sculpted as he is holding a batarang and a stick of dynamite, with both arms up in the air and his legs appear as if he’s running. The head sculpt looks as it does in the comic stripe, with the long nose and the mouth almost hidden underneath. The eyes are round, with triangles as the eye balls. The hat is round, with two pointy objects sticking up on top. The outfit resembles the batsuit, with utility belt that is packed with accessories around his waist, which includes a sling shot, bomb, mirror, pistol and more. The belt is painted in white and black, with the black objects over the white side, and the white objects on the black side. The costume is painted half in white and half in black straight down the center, which does remind us a bit of Two Face’s costume. The costume includes a Spy Vs. Spy face and hat logo on his chest that is painted in black and white, with a short skit, pants, and pointy feet.

The black and white deco looks great and the lines between the two are crisp and there isn’t any bleeding on this particular sample. The statue stands on a bat symbol base, with a peg hole drilled in so that the left (white) foot can be inserted into it. On the bottom of the base, is the number AP11 of 5,000. Meaning this is an Artist Proof statue that is not part of the original run. Making this a rare collectible.

Overall, this is a beautiful looking statue with a great sculpt, deco and an overall likeness to the character. Fans of the comic stripe, as well as collectors of the statue lines will like this piece.
