McFarlane Toys Stranger Things 7″ Scale Lucas Figure Review

McFarlane Toys released the next two Stranger Things 7″ scale action figures with Dustin and Lucus, who are two of the four main male child stars in the series. The first wave included Chief Hopper and Eleven, which were reviewed HERE. Lucas was sculpted using images of Actor Caleb McLaughlin, who portrays Lucas in the series. Lucas is remarkably detailed and comes with accessories he used in the show.

Stranger Things is currently in its second season, with a third season planned for release at the end of 2018 or at the beginning of 2019. The series follows the disappearance of Will, and introduces fans to a supernatural world opposite of our own with creatures that can enter our world through rips through reality. The first season also includes the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic abilities who helps the missing boy’s friends in their own search.  The series currently has two seasons screaming on Netflix, with the second season titled Stranger Things 2, and focuses on the continuing story of the first season. The third season we haven’t read any details about, and we especially won’t ruin those details for you here.

Thank you to McFarlane Toys for providing their Stranger Things 7″ scale Lucas figure for review.

Availability: March 2018

Lucas stands at 6″ tall and features the likeness of Actor Caleb McLaughlin. The figure was created using images of the actor, and this came out great. Lucas is sculpted in his 1980’s inspired brown jacket with white interior lining. The jacket has a detailed texture to it and also a wash that makes parts of it looking shiny. The jacket includes buttons, pockets and other details to match the likeness. Underneath the jacket is a light blue shirt with a dark blue trim on top of it around his neck. Sculpted around his was it is a light brown belt with pouches all the way around it. His pants are painted in a dark purple with a light wash over it. The pants are also textured all over. His shoes are dark blue and black, with white trim around the edges.

His head sculpt is nicely done and detailed with a great likeness to him, and the bandana has a desert camouflage theme. His hair is textured and painted in black, and has a light wash over it in various places on top.

His backpack is removable, and is painted in a dark blue with a light blue wash over it, and a brown bottom. The backpack includes textures on its own, and looks the part of an 80’s style school backpack with the two zipper compartments. The handle on top is painted in dark blue, and the straps are painted in the same shade of dark blue with some light blue wash over it.

Dustin includes a wrist rocket/slingshot, flashlight, radio, and an interchangeable right hand sculpt that includes a peg so that the radio can fit into it. Also included is a clear acrylic stand with the Stranger Things text in red. The stand doesn’t entirely work with the peg hole in his feet, and tends to fall out.

Lucas is fully articulated with a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, swivel-hinge hips, swivel-hinge knees, and ball jointed ankles.

Overall, Lucas is an excellent figure with a superior likeness to the actor and great attention to detail. Fans of Stranger Things will love this collection, as this is definitely a well done sculpted figure.
