NECA Toys A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Tuxedo Freddy Krueger 8″ Clothed Figure Review

One, Two, Freddy’s Coming For You

NECA Toys is now offering their Freddy Krueger 8″ Clothed figure based on A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. In the film, Freddy appears in a tuxedo when visiting Kristen Parker’s house, which is one of the more memorable appearances of Freddy in the film besides the giant Snake head.

From the cult classic Nightmare on Elm Street movies, this clothed action figure is based on Freddy’s tuxedo appearance in Dream Warriors!

Freddy stands 8” tall and is fully poseable. He’s dressed in a fabric tuxedo with red and green striped bow tie and pocket square, and comes with a replica model of the Elm Street house that lights up. Blister packaging with resealable protective clamshell features custom artwork created by Nathan Thomas Milliner just for this release!

The film takes place a year after the events of the second movie, and follows Kristen Parker, a young girl that is having dreams of an abandoned house on Elm Street and being chased by slashed Freddy Krueger. The film follows her story, as she ends up at Westin Hospital, where Nancy Thompson, a survivor that previously fought Freddy, is working as a therapist. With Nancy’s help, the patients begin to fight back and control their dreams. The film ends with the deaths of Nancy Thompson, and thought to be defeated once and for all Freddy. That is until the events of the fourth sequel a year later.

Freddy Krueger 7 3/4″ tall and is based on his likeness from a scene in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors where he visits Kristen Parker’s house. In the scene, he is dressed in this tuxedo outfit. The figure features fabric clothing, including a black jacket and pants that are hand stitched and sewed. The jacket includes buttons and pockets that are meant for show only, as the buttons don’t close the jacket on the other side. The jacket and pants also have various textures that give it a realistic look and feel, as if Freddy is wearing an actual tuxedo, and this is also a common style for 8″ clothed figures, which are otherwise known as Mego style. The black jacket also has a handkerchief in the pocket that matches the bowtie.

Freddy is also dressed in a white shirt with black buttons, a red and green bowtie, and a black belt that matches his on screen look and also makes the suit look real. The white shirt has several layers on it as this is the common style for a tuxedo, and the bowtie is positioned at the center of the collar keeping it together. Freddy’s shoes are in black, and are made of plastic with sculpted shoe laces and additional details.

His head sculpt and hands are burned as seen in the film, and to capture this the skin features various textures and details that fans will recall from previously offered in the 7″ scale and 8″ Clothed figure offerings. His head sculpt includes his tongue sticking out, and the right hand is gloved with his blades pointing out. The fingers are non-articulated, and the glove is sculpted as part of the hand. The glove is painted is metallic gold and copper, as well as a light brown with a black wash.

Included with Freddy is a replica model of the Elm Street house that lights up. The house has some great detail including various textures, boarded up windows, a red door, grey and green siding and a roof. The light up feature is activated by pressing a button on the back of the house.

Overall, Tuxedo Freddy is an excellent figure with an excellent likeness and an overall great design. The details on the tuxedo are sharp and look just like they did in the film. The house is especially a nice treat as it has the light up feature, which looks great in the dark.
