McFarlane Toys continues to make good use of their digital scanning technology to create some detailed likenesses on their movie and tv figures, and this wave of Stranger Things figures fits in nicely with the first two waves. This wave completes the core characters of the four kids – Will, Mike, Lucus and Dustin, and offers a season 2 Punk Eleven, Upside Down Will and Barb. The figures are packaged in blister cards with artwork and images of the figures on the card back.
Punk Eleven is based on her appearance as seen in Season 2, and is sculpted in a black shirt, a black jacket with sculpted texture, denim jeans, white shoes and a wrist wrap. The shirt, jacket and jeans have a wash over it that makes it look more realistic. Her head sculpt features a great likeness and has the drop of blood on the left nostril, and her black hair is short with a light wash. Included is a mask, alternate hands and a stand.
Eleven is fully articulated with a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, swivel-hinge hips, swivel-hinge knees, and ball jointed ankles.
Mike is sculpted in his beige jacket with red lining, denim jeans, white shoes, a white shirt with different colored stripes, a black belt with a silver belt buckle. The jacket has a wash on it that is nicely detailed. His head sculpt features a great likeness with black hair and facial details. Included is an alternate hand, walkie talky, a flashlight, a backpack, and a figure stand. The backpack has some nicely done deco with various colors including green, white, black and brown. This is also inspired from a backpack that was available in the 1980’s with the two zipper compartments.
His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, swivel-hinge hips, swivel-hinge knees, and ball jointed ankles.
Will is sculpted a red and yellow vest, plaid shirt, light blue denim jeans, black sneakers with white stripes and shoe laces. He also has a white undershirt and a watch with a wrist band. The head sculpt is nicely done and he has short black hair, and nicely done facial details. Included is an alternate hand, walkie talky, a backpack and a stand. His backpack is dark grey with a light wash over it and is inspired from an 80’s design with two zipper compartments.

Upside Down Will features the same sculpt as the regular version, and this one includes new deco on his skin and clothing. In the series, Will became sick when some of the black vines from the other universe was inside him, which caused his skin to become green when he became ill. The detail on this version is nicely done and the paint applications on his skin, and the clothing has a green wash over it in various places such as the jacket, shirt, jeans and shoes. Included is an alternate hand sculpt that is painted in beige, not green as it should have been, walkie talky, and a stand.
His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, swivel-hinge hips, swivel-hinge knees, and ball jointed ankles.
Barb has become a sought after figure, given her popularity in the series with the catch phrase “Where’s Barb?” She is sculpted in a 80’s blouse with blue and pink, light blue denim jeans, and brown shoes. Her head sculpt is nicely done and we’re loving the glasses, and she has short brown hair and nicely done facial details. Included with Barb is a notebook and a can of beer.
Her articulation includes a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, swivel-hinge hips, swivel-hinge knees, and ball jointed ankles.
Overall, Stranger Things series 3, the Upside Down Will and Barb figures are all great additions to the line and they came out with some excellent detail and paint applications. Fans of the show, and collectors of McFarlane Toys will certainly want to add these to your collection. The attention to detail has come a long way in a short amount of time, and this is such a great time for collectors of action figures.
