DC Collectibles is now offering the next Doomsday Clock figure set of a series of 2 packs based on the Doomsday Clock comic, which are compatible with the new 7″ scale DC Essentials figure line. This 2 pack includes Rorschach and Mime, and additional offerings include Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias, and The Comedian and Marionette. Doomsday Clock is the title of the crossover between DC Comics and Watchmen, and this series takes place a year ahead of DC’s current continuity. This comic series is a 12-issue story that will not have tie-ins and crossovers, and instead will only focus on the main title. This crossover is part of the DC Rebirth storyline, and will this story will have an impact on the entire DC Universe.

Thank you to DC Collectibles for providing the Doomsday Clock Rorschach and Mime 2 Pack Figures for review.

Availability: October 2018

Rorschach and Mime are packaged in a window box with the yellow and black colors used in the Doomsday Clock logo. The back of the box shows the images inside, as well as Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias, and The Comedian and Marionette 2 packs. There is also a brief description on top.

Both figures are part of the new 7″ scale DC Essentials line, which is currently in its second wave. These figures are inspired from their appearance in the new Doomsday Clock crossover in DC Comics, which ties DC and Watchmen in a 12-issue story.

Rorschach is sculpted and painted in his raincoat that is beige and made of a soft plastic, with the arms as a separate piece. The coat is tied closed by the belt, with the collar around his heck and black buttons. His scarf is light grey that is tied around his neck, and his head sculpt is masked with white and black deco. The black paint applications on the head have nicely done crisp lines and a great likeness to the comic series. He also has purple pants with black stripes, brown shoes, and interchangeable black and brown gloved hand sculpts. He also includes a harpoon gun as seen in the comics that fits better in the black hand sculpt, as well as a hat. His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and swivel-hinged ankles.

Mime is sculpted and painted as he appears in the Doomsday Clock comic book series, and lives up to the namesake with an all black and white costume with his arms and some of his face being shown. The outfit is mostly black, with white on his chest with black stripes, white boots and black bottoms and around the edges, and some face painting that is mostly white white black around his eyes, and black lipstick, and he also has white gloves. His hair is painted in black with a stripe of white deco in the front. The figure is sculpted with the new bulky figure body in the DC Essentials line, which is bigger, taller and features more detail than DC Icons. This figure also does not include accessories, but also comes packed with articulation. He features a ball jointed neck, ab crunch, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, and swivel-hinged ankles.

Overall, Rorschach and Mime are great figures with exceptional detail, sculpting and paint applications that fans of Watchmen and DC Comics will love. We particularly like how well these are articulated and both feature such great detailed deco. Look for these in comic shops now, or grab yourself a set from the stores below –
