This weekend, we will be attending Power-Con 2019, which is being held at its new location in Anaheim, CA on August 17 & 18, 2019. This year, Mattel will be showcasing some new Masters of the Universe toys that will be available in 2020, and will have some new reveals compared to what was shown at San Diego Comic-Con last month. In addition to this, Mattel is also offering a WWE/Masters of the Universe crossover line that includes interchangeable parts with the Masters of the Univeres line. You can learn a bit more about this line and new WWE figures coming out in our video walkthrough with Bill Miekina.
Super7 just announced the return of ThunderCats Classics, now called ThunderCats Ultimates with the initial wave of Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Jackalman and Panthro. Pre-Orders are available now on Entertainment Earth, BigBadToyStore and Megalopolis: City of Collectibles. Brian Flynn, order of Super7 also stated that 16 ThunderCats figures are planned spread out in 4 figure waves, with each wave going up for pre-order every 3 months, and the plan is to release these over the next 2 years. We’re hoping that the first wave will be on display this year as Super7 no longer has the MOTU license as Mattel took it back. This is why Masters of the Universe Classics is no longer being offered, as Mattel is focused on the Origins line launching next year.
The Four Horsemen Studios will also be in attendance showing off some recently announced Mythic Legions figures that were shown at G-Con. The Horsemen will be offering early releases of their Mythic Legions: Wasteland line of figures – Kronnaw & Purrrplor. The set will cost $80 and limited to 1 set per person for the first hour.
ToyHypeUSA will be bringing you coverage of all of these booths, panels, dealer room and much more beginning Saturday. So make sure to check the site periodically throughout the weekend (and possibly on Monday) for coverage.
Mattel products are available to order on Entertainment Earth, BigBadToyStore, Megalopolis: City Of Collectibles and Amazon.com.
