Dinosaurs have captivated us for generations and were one of our first loves as children. We all know of them, people love them all around the world, and yet these majestic creatures of prehistory are sorely underrepresented in the collectibles industry, most notably, as action figures. In 2016, the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series Kickstarter campaign offered finely detailed, scientifically-accurate, highly poseable dinosaur action figures, and with over 2,600 backers, the response well exceeded expectations. Now the time has come to follow up the Raptors with the next phase in the dinosaur toy revolution. It’s time to celebrate and explore, the Ceratopsians!
The Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series picks up where the Raptor Series left off, with a focus on scientific accuracy, detail, functionality, and imagination! With this second series, the Beasts of the Mesozoic line strives to improve upon all of these qualities while adding more diversity of dinosaur species and larger, more varied figures thus recreating a time in which wildlife flourished in ways we humans have never witnessed. Some species offered here will be very familiar while others present new opportunities for discovery, much like when we first learned of these amazing creatures in our formative years. Join me while we revisit old favorites and possibly find some new favorites as well.
A little about Creative Beast Studio
Creative Beast Studio is a sole-proprietorship owned by David Silva, a designer/ sculptor in the toys and collectibles industry since 2003. David has worked for companies such as McFarlane Toys (Dragons, Spawn), Hasbro (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Marvel), and NECA (Predator, Godzilla, Pacific Rim, Aliens). David has run Creative Beast Studio in addition to full-time employment in the toy industry since Fall of 2009. With an initial focus on dinosaur model kits, the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Raptor Series Kickstarter in 2016 has helped grow the company’s audience exponentially and the focus is now to seek the potential for wildlife-based action figures, for which collectors have very few options.
