Spin Master has taken over the DC license as of January to offer a wide range of products that are targeted towards kids. This includes an assortment of 4″ and 12″ figures, 4″ scale vehicles such as the Batmobile and Batboat 2-in-1 vehicle as shown, Rapid Change Utility Belt Batman figure, and more products such as the items listed in their press release. The 4″ Batman figure collection includes the Caped Crusader, Robin, and a variety of villains such as The Joker, Man Bat, Clayface, King Shark and others. The figures have some limited articulation, but the quality including the paint applications are strong with these. The single carded figures offers 3 mystery accessories, and to find out what’s inside you would need to open it. The Gold Batman figure as shown above, if a chase figure meaning he’s harder to find compared to other figures in the line. There is also a Metallic Robin out there that is also a chase figure. The 4″ figures can also be placed inside vehicles such as the Batmobile and Batboat 2-in-1 vehicle that has the the ability to store the boat inside the Batmobile.
The boat has the drivers seat that can be accessed in the batmobile by pulling up the latch and placing a figure in the seat. The Batboat is easy to remove by pulling it out from the back, at which point the wings flap down. Both vehicles have a silver cowl on the front that shines.
The 12″ figure assortment is where the youngest of children will enjoy these figures as kids normally like these. The days of shampoo bottles are over, as these have more articulation such as in the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, where you can pose these in a variety of ways. Batman is in his grey and black batsuit, with a yellow utility belt, black cowl, and a black batman logo. The cape is made of fabric, which is a nice touch.
The Rapid Change Utility Belt Batman figure is part of the 12″ line and the action features on him are excellent. The figure has the ability to switch the accessories he’s holding, such as the Bat Claw, Bat Torch and Bat Blaster weapons by pressing his legs, which allows his right wrist to grab the one on his right hip and raise it up. This also activates the lights, sounds and phrases he can speak. To give you a better understand, we created a video demonstration of him as shown below:
