Jonny Cage and Raiden are packaged in a widow box with artwork based on the Mortal Kombat game, with an image of the figure on the right side, a logo on the left, and an action shot of the figure on the back.
Johnny Cage and Raiden are based on how they appear in Mortal Kombat 11, which is the latest game of the franchise and introduces Spawn, The Joker, and others while bringing back many of the established characters.
Johnny Cage is geared up in his metallic blue, purple, green and white jacket that includes a symbol of him on the back, a sculpted zipper, and sculpted textures on the jacket itself. The jacket over the torso is made of a soft plastic, and he has a blue and black belt around his waist with a silver belt buckle with the name Cage on it, black pants with white stripes on the sides, blue knee pads with black stripes, and sneakers that are mostly white, blue, purple and green. This outfit is his Hollywood Hunk look as seen in the game, and the figure has a great likeness to him. The quality of the figure is also well made, even more sturdy than some of their Fortnite figures we’ve checked out. Johnny Cage also has the name Johnny tattooed on his chest, and white bandages on his wrists and hands with a pink wash on it.
His head sculpt is also pretty good, with nice facial details and brown hair. The glasses tend to move around easily as they only rest on his nose and around his ears. He also includes the Best actor award trophy and a Miniature Johnny Cage figure. The trophy includes some small writting, including the words Excellence Award Best Actor.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, swivel-hinged hips, double-hinged knees, swivel-hinged ankles, and hinged toes.
Raiden, the God of Thunder is also nicely done and the figure has some great attention to detail in the sculpt, which looks as it does in the game. His shirt is in a dark green with a wash, and has sculpted detail and texture. The outfit also includes gold armor painted in metallic, metallic blue, brown, a light grey and black stripe around his waist, and a dark red as the primary colors. He also has a metallic green jewel on the upper part of his chest armor. The armor on his shoulders, forearms, and the great attention detail around his waist is nicely done and there is a lot going on here. The knee pads are also in a gold armor with red straps below it, brown boots and additional gold on the boots and toes. His head sculpt is nicely done, and includes his iconic hat that cannot be removed, with some of the game colors as the rest of the outfit, with the gold given a black wash. Raiden is based on his Merciless Guardian appearance from the game, and the figure is also well made and less fragile than some of the other 7″ scale figures we’ve checked out, including Fortnite.
Raiden includes two sets of interchangeable hands, two lightning bolts, and a staff. Both figures also include a base.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed waist, swivel-hinged hips, double-hinged knees, swivel-hinged ankles, and hinged toes.
Overall, Johnny Cage and Raiden came out great, and the attention to detail and iconic game likenesses match the figures nicely. Mortal Kombat fans will definitely want to check these out. You can find these figures and more at the stores listed below:
