Jazwares is offering a new wave of their popular Fortnite Legendary Series 6″ figures, including Galaxy, Beef Boss, Sentinel and Ruin. Ruin was introduced in Season 8 of the game, and it was speculated that he was the cause of the volcano erupting during the Unvaulting event. He is also part of the Ruination set and is The Prisoners right hand.
Thank you to Jazwares for providing their Fortnite Legendary Series 6″ Ruin Figure for review.
Availability: March 2020
Ruin is packaged on a window box with a blister card in the back. The window is seen on the front and sides, his accessories, and around it is artwork including logos, character design from the game, and the back showcases the character with other offerings below him.
Ruin has a Ultron design going for him and he has that villain-like appearance that looks like he’s capable of taking on a team of heroes. In the game, Ruin can survive of lava, which is something that you normally don’t see, and figure pays tribute to that with the dark red deco in the grooves of his sculpt, which indicates the lava on his body. His eyes even include the dark red deco, but don’t glow like they do in the game. The rest of the sculpt is painted in a metallic dark grey, which shines under light and all of the attention to detail on the sculpt is easily visible. The sculpt looks like a body of armor, with layers of armor over the body, including knee pads, gauntlets, and shoulder pads on hinge joints. His head sculpt came out great, with the attention to details on the face, eyes, and spikes on the top of his head. There is even a piece sticking up behind his head, which was also seen in the game, that came out really well on the figure.
Ruin includes the Dread harvesting tool, Dying Light back bling, Compact SMG, Legendary Infantry Rifle, Heavy Shotgun, and a stick of dynamite.
The articulation includes a swivel-hinged head, hinged shoulder pads, ball hinged shoulders, butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, ball jointed torso, swivel-hinged wrists, hinged fingers, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball hinged hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes.
Overall, Ruin is an excellent figure and a great character to add to your collection. Some of the articulation has limited range of motion such as the ball hinged shoulders, which is fine as the detail of the figure more than makes up for anything small like this. Ruin is a great looking figure and definitely something you need in your collection.
