Playmobil Scooby-Doo – 70361 Adventure In The Mystery Mansion Playset Review

Playmobil continues their popular Scooby-Doo line with some new playsets this year, including the Adventure In The Mystery Mansion that is inspired from the classic Scooby Doo series of the 1970’s. This set is the largest offering of the year and includes a Mansion with a ton of interior and exterior details, a vampire, Scooby-D00, Fred and Daphne.

Scooby-Doo™, Fred™ & Daphne™ are on the case to investigate the secrets that lie inside the Mystery Mansion™. Spooky surprises await them in shadowy corners and creaky corridors, and nothing should be overlooked. Beware! A trap door, dangling chandelier, secret hideouts, hidden doors, and atrick staircase will keep the gang on their toes. With the help of the PLAYMOBIL app, ghosts and ghouls can be projected as a hologram on the ground floor. The light up coffin illuminates the ghost cards, giving the crew clues and bringing them closer to capturing the villain. Eeek! The coffin also comes with creepy and haunted sound effects to add to the eerie atmosphere. The vampire’s changing faces can be shocking, but once the crew unmasks him, the mystery is finally revealed! Playset includes Fred™, Daphne™, Scooby-Doo™, vampire, haunted mansion, coffin with projector and sound effects, three ghost cards, and many more accessories for an exciting adventure!

The Scooby Doo Adventure in the Mystery Mansion is packaged in a large box with some great photography and artwork on the front, sides and back. The front and back gives you a look at the all the details and features that this set includes, along with a look at the accessories and figures.

The Mystery Mansion is painted with bright colors that are inspired from the classic series, including purple vinyl, blue roof, bright green wood and a dark brown deck make up the exterior colors. The from of the Mystery Mansion also includes shudders that turn to the sides, plants growing on the siding, boarded up windows with detailed sculpted and painted wood, and a gargoyle head on top holding a lantern. The front door also opens, and there are bats positioned on the bright green wood above the deck.

The sides of the house each have their own unique design, including the chimney with smoke stacks, and the other side has a hidden passageway for the Vampire to move around in, hidden by plants, along with some windows on the second floor.

The interior of the Mansion has a lot of details, and we placed all of the accessories on the front of the deck, and the interior as well. Inside, it’s a spooky place to be, with spider webs, mice, and some dated furniture set for another time period. This includes a chair, a fireplace, a grandfather clock, and a bear rug. The chest has some gold bars and cash inside that the person behind the Vampire outfit is likely trying to find and steal.

The Vampire uses the bookcase mounted to the wall as a secret passage way to move around. This leads to the outside where the plants are covering the hidden passage.

The stairs can also be used as a trap and they slide inward so that Fred or another member of the Mystery Inc. slides down them. This is done by sliding the gold piece to the wall over, which activates the trap. There is also a hidden compartment in the floor boards, where you can hide cash and the gold bars.

The upstairs has some more accessories placed around, including a coffin for the Vampire that serves as a music box and illuminates the ghost cards rather than an actual coffin he can use to go into. Check out the video as we took a closer look at the coffin there. The upstairs also has ghost curtains that glow-in-the-dark, a third level has a ladder, with a tray that slides inside the chimney, and bats can hang above it. The shangler lights hang above the second and third levels, and also also drop down to fall on a character. Each of the candles are also removable, and this hangs by a plastic chain. The walls also have some pictures of various characters, including a Vampire, Knight and a female character.

The upstairs also has two trap doors, one in the front, and the other in the back that drops down by moving the plant on the front of the house over a tiny bit, which activates the trap door.

The Mystery Mansion comes with four figures, including Scooby-Doo, Fred, Daphne, and the Vampire. The Vampire is new to the line as we’ve seen the scooby gang released last year with previous sets, and the Vampire has an alternate face on the back to reveal his identity.

The set also comes with the ability to use the 3D app, and also comes with an acrylic piece to illuminate ghosts from your phone onto. The app wasn’t working on the phone, so make sure to check out the video for more information on this as we show you the official instructions.

Overall, Scooby-Doo Adventure in the Mystery Mansion set is an amazing offering from Playmobil that fans are sure to love. Classic Scobby-Doo lives on with these incredible sets, and this Mystery Mansion has some great play features as seen in the cartoon that you can recreate here. The hidden passage way, trap doors, hidden compartments, and a spooky villain is what Scooby-Doo is about, so make sure to pick this up especially if you’re a fan of classic or modern Scooby-Doo, and if you have kids that also enjoy it.
