Playmates Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ninja Elite Series Figures Video Review

Playmates Toys is bringing back their 6″ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line this year with these classic colored comic inspired figures by Eastman and Laird. In 2012, Playmates Toys introduced their classic collection Turtles line to the market, which included the four turtles, Rocksteady and Bebop, and even two different offerings of the 1990 Movie turtles. Following this success, they offered two waves of co-brand turtles figures, with two waves of WWE/Turtles and one wave of Ghostbusters/Turtles figures.  Also shown at New York ToyFair, but not released was the 6″ Classic Collection Shredder and Krang in his android body figures, that was slated for release sometime after Bebop and Rocksteady.

Playmates Toys was the first company to introduce the 6″ Turtles figure concept to the community, years before NECA Toys, which started in 2016 as SDCC Exclusives, and Super7 in 2020. While they were the first, their offerings are a bit more stylized and not 100% based on the classic cartoon, comic, or film. Playmates Toys likes to keep the price point at a level that fans can more easily afford, compared to the pricer figures from other companies.

This years new Turtles figures are the first comic inspired figures offered in the 6″ line from them, and are now starting to show up as in-stock at online retailers as mentioned below.
