Bandai Tamashii Nations is offering a new S.H. Figuarts – Pac-Man Figure, which is inspired from the 80’s classic arcade game that many of us grew up playing. In the game, Pac-Man has to eat all of the white dots before the ghosts can catch up to him, and when that happens, he will lose a life, and the game ends when all lives are lost. On the corners of the maze, there are large flashing “energizers”, or “power pellets” that Pac Man can eat. Once consumed, these will cause the ghosts to turn blue with a dizzied expression and reverse direction to run away from Pac Man as this allows him to eat them. Pac-Man can eat these blue ghosts for bonus points; and when eaten, their eyes make their way back to the center box in the maze. Once they arrive, they regenerate and resume their normal activity in their original color. The object of each level is to eat all of the white dots, and once you do, you can move onto the next level.
Thank you to Bluefin for providing the S.H. Figuarts – Pac-Man Figure for review.

Pac-Man is packaged in a window box, with artwork inspired from the classic arcade game on the cover, showing Pac-Man, Blinky and the cherries on top. The sides show Pac-Man in poses, and the back includes additional poses along with a description and details about the figure.
Pac-Man stands at 4″ tall and is inspired from the classic arcade game that many of us grew up playing. The figure features a round yellow head, with facial features that includes eyes, a long nose, and a smiling mouth with a tongue. Unlike the arcade game, this figure is given arms and legs for posing, with articulation to showcase him in various poses.
Obviously, the head has no articulation, but the arms and legs are given this to be able to pose him in and showcase his interchangeable hands. His arm articulation includes swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, and ball jointed wrists. His leg articulation includes swivel hips, swivel-hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
There are five wrists included, three right hands, and two left, with the extra right hand given the thumbs up hand sculpt. His hands are all gloved and are painted in orange, while his boots are red. He is mostly painted in yellow on his head, legs and arms, with black facial details src has eye brows, eyes, and mouth with a red tongue.
Pac-Man also includes a pixelated Blinky (red ghost) inspired from the arcade game, and cherries. He also includes an interchangeable portrait, with a blinking eye. In the game, Pac-Man is roughly the same size as the ghosts, but this figure is depicted much larger.
Overall, Pac-Man is a great figure, with a great likeness and attention to detail. The interchangeable parts are fun to swap out, and the accessories are great additions. The pixelated detail for Blinky and the cherries pay a great homage to the retro arcade game, and fit in nicely overall with Pac-Man. Fans are surely going to want to add this figure to their collection, and for $19.99, you just can’t go wrong here!
