Bandai Tamashii Nations is offering a new Thor figure in their S.H. Figuarts line, and is inspired from the 2012 film The Avengers, which introduced these iconic Marvel characters to an entire new generation of fans, movie goers, and an entirely new audience that the comics had not. Thor joins other Avengers in this new line, including Captain America, Iron Man, Loki, and Hulk. Also recently announced was Black Widow and Hawkeye, which are available to pre-order now.

Thor is packaged in the standsard S.H. Figuarts window box, with artwork inspired from the film on the front, as well as images of the figure on the sides and back. Thor is in a plastic tray with all of his accessories for safe keeping, including an instruction sheet behind the cardboard insert behind it.
Thor is given the previously offered S.H. Figuarts body sculpt and is based to look as he appeared in the 2012 The Avengers film. The figure comes in his dark blue, black, silver and red, with the silver done in metallic and is painted on the armor. The overall colors of the costume is inspired from the pages of Marvel Comics, and reimagined for the film. The metallic silver makes the armor shine and they did fantastic job on this. his arms are covered in armor with a sculpted pattern, with armor on the forearms that includes straps.
His face plates are nicely done with a really great likeness to Actor Chris Hemsworth, each with a unique facial expression. Unlike Captain America as he comes with interchangeable heads, Thor’s face plates can be swapped and placed on, just as we’ve seen with other brands such as Dragon Ball.
The cape is made of fabric with a wire for custom posing, which is a great way to offer him. The cape goes over the shoulders and is attached to the underpart of the armor.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, ball jointed ankles and hinged toes.
Thor includes some iconic accessories that is inspired from various scenes of the film, including interchangeblae hand sculpts (closed fisted, two open, open grip and one that works for the spinning hammer), Mjölnir hammer
Lightning effect and Hammer-spinning effect.
Overall, Thor is a great figure with a great likeness to the 2012 film. The deco, especially all of the interchangeable parts and accessories make this figure something special, especially with next year being the 10th anniversary of the film.
