Playmobil 70750 The A-Team Van & Figure Set Review

Playmobil 70750 The A-Team Van & Figure Set Review

“…If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire… the A-Team.”

Playmobil has expanded their brands to one of the 1980’s most memorable action-packed television series, The A-Team. The A-Team aired from 1983 – 1987, and is about a team of Army Special Forces were tried and convented of a crime that they did not commit, escaped from a military prison, and have been on the run while helping those in need while avoiding capture by law enforcement and military authorities.

Thank you to Playmobil for sending along their A-Team set for review.

Availability: August 2022

The A-Team are packaged in a box with beautifully done artwork and imagery showcasing the set and accessories inside the box, including the van, 4 figures and more. There are two additional boxes inside, one for the van, and the other for the figures and accessories.

The van has some minor assembly needed as you need to place the tires on, interior details as well as some labels that are included. The instruction sheet (shown in the video above), does a nice job with step-by-step instructions of the assembly. Once completed, your vehicle will look like this, and it pays a great likeness and homage to the van shown in the classic television series, with the iconic red stripe, black and grey, with red rims on the tires.

The van has several compartments that can be lifted, including the front windshield, roof, side and back doors. It does not have a drivers or passengers door for whatever reason, as that would have been more accurate to the source material. The figures can fit inside nearly, as there are a total of 5 seats, plus a peg wall to hang equipment and an internal monitor. The tank can be stored next to the sliding door, as there is a peg on the floor to store it on. The drivers and passengers seat has just enough room to place the figures inside, along with cup holders, and a steering wheel.

The A-Team are nicely done and in the Playmobil figure style, which has been popular since the 60’s. The figures are in their iconic outfits, with Mr. T nicely accessorized with his gold chains, and Murdock with his sock puppet and pilots jacket.

The set also includes a handful of accessories, including tools and a tool chest, dynamite, binoculars, 2x walkie talkies, a flashlight, and 2x milk cartons.

Overall, this is a fun set and and gives fans an opportunity to finally own the A-Team and the van, as there aren’t too many options on the market for a complete set like this based on this show. This set is a great example of what Playmobil has been doing, with offering brands like Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Scooby Doo, Knight Rider and others and giving them new life in this 3″ scale. The A-Team continues to be widely remembered from fans that grew up watching these four men save countless individuals from crooks during its run, and now you have a nice set here to reminisce those days, and since Playmobil keeps everything in this style, these figures and the van would also be compatible with other sets from a variety of franchises and offerings. Make sure to grab this set, as it’s surely worth the $89.99 price point.
