Playmobil 70924 Knight Rider K.I.T.T. Set Review

Playmobil is expanding their already impressive line-up of licensed sets with their newly released Knight Rider K.I.T.T., which is based on the classic tv series of the 1980’s. The series starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, and was a crime fighter show with a man and his car that has an A.I. This set pays tribute to the series, and includes three figures – Michale Knight, Devon Miles and Bonnie Barstow, along with a desk for Devon and a Computer Lab for Bonnie. The set includes 53 pieces and as this is Playmobil, all parts, including K.I.T.T. will be compatible with all other offerings, licensed or not.

Thank you to Playmobil for sending along their Knight Rider K.I.T.T. set for review.

Availability: October 2022

K.i.T.T. is packaged in a box with beautifully done artwork and images on the front and back, along with an image of the roof being removed on the top, and a look at all of the parts and accessories at the bottom of the box. Inside, the figures, accessories and K.I.T.T. are packaged in boxes, including the figures in alcoves with their names next to it. Each bag is also numbered as shown in the instructions to allow an easier build.

The set includes three major parts, including three figures based on the classic television series. Also included is a tool chest with tools, a worksheet for Bonnie, newspaper for Devon, and a. device/watch for Michael.

Bonnie’s Computer Lab requires some stickers that you place on manually, and also includes a phone, and a camera that can be placed right on the counter space. Devon’s desk also has stickers that you place on, as well as a computer, a phone, and a chair for him to sit on.

K.I.T.T. is obviously the selling point here, and this is where a lot of the detail goes into for the price point. The outside of the car pays a great tribute to what you remember from the series, including the style, make and model, and the details such as a working electronics with his voice, lights in the front, pop-up headlights, a detachable roof, and a rotating license plate. The lights and sounds are activated bypassing the top of the hood, and these also shut off automatically if you leave the batteries inside (requires 2x AAA that are not included)

The lights are fairly bright and the sound is on a low volume, but works exceptionally well. The interior details of the car are nicely done, including the controls and steering wheel.

Up to 4 figures can be placed inside K.I.T.T., but make sure to pop off the roof as the doors do not open to place the figures inside. This is exceptionally functional for not only the included figures, but you can also pop in a member or all four of the A-Team, Ghostbusters or whatever else you have as this is compatible with all brands and offerings in the Playmobil 3″ figure style.

Overall, Playmobil’s team have once again offered an amazingly detailed vehicles, figures and playsets that are sure to make every Knight Rider, and 80’s television series fan happy. You can’t go wrong with this set as it offers a lot of features that you normally don’t see with K.I.T.T. Definitely recommend.
