The other version is in-color, and comes with accurate deco to this storyline. The black and white version is worth more however, as this is a chase figure and if you’re looking for it, BigBadToyStore has you covered. Thank you to Playmates Toys for sending along their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; The Last Ronin Previews Exclusive Figure for review.

Availability: November 2022

The Last Ronin is packaged in a window box, with artwork inspired from the comic series in black and white as the figure itself, with an image of him on top, logo’s, an image of the back along with a description and red blood drops on top. He comes in a plastic tray along with his accessories for safe keeping.

The Last Ronin is a special release offered outside of any mainstream line, and comes in black and white deco as this is the chase variation of the figure. He is mostly in white, with black lines and shading throughout the sculpt, including capturing some details such as the folds, pouches on the belt, and lines that offer it depth. Sculpted to his body are several holsters for the accessories, including two for the sais, and the back includes a holster for the bo staff and katana. There is also a removable grappling hook that is sculpted to the rope, that connects to the belt with a peg.

He comes with an assortment of accessories inspired from the comic, including a set of nunchucks, 4 throwing stars (2 of each kind), a katana, a broken katana, a bo staff and a set of sais. The katana, bo staff, and sais can be stored on his body, including the holsters on the back and the sais fit in the holsters on the front and back.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head with limited range of motion as the hoodie is non-removable, swivel-hinged elbows, double hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, and hinged ankles.

Overall, The Last Ronin is a must-have for fans of the comic series and for those that want to fill-in for the 5″ Turtles collection. The figure is nicely detailed and the black and white version is surely an eye catcher on the toy shelf. Make sure to pick up both versions while you can.
