Playmates Toys continues their co-brand offerings with this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Stranger Things sets that continues right where wave 1 left off. We’ve seen Playmates expand this brand into all-new concepts in the past year, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Street Fighter figures, as well as the first wave with Stranger Things offered last year. These crossovers gives both brands something different that you haven’t seen before, and will stand out compared to anything you already have in your collection. The second wave of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Stranger Things 2-packs includes Donatello and Lucas, Michelangelo and Dustin, and these are Target Stores exclusives in the U.S.

Each set is packaged in a window box, with artwork inspired from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series and Stranger Things. The figures and artwork are upside from each other, which is inspired from Stranger Things, and this also copies over to the back of the box. The back of the box also gives you a description of the set, which brings both franchises together, as this is a fun mashup of both franchises. The figures are packaged in a plastic tray along with their accessories.
Lucas comes in a light grey tank top with red stripes, blue shorts, white socks, white sneakers with red trim, a white wrist band and a black watch. The figure features the likeness of actor Caleb McLaughlin, with nicely done facial details, paint applications, and textured hair.
Included with Lucas is a backpack that fits over his torso, binoculars, headphones with a cassette player, sling shot, and a phone. The sling shot is the only accessory that is a bit loose in his hand, as you would need to position it just right so it stays in place.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, and swivel ankles.
Dustin comes in an orange shirt with a printer label, a blue test also with a printed label, green shorts, white socks with blue stripes, white sneakers with orange laces, a Cape Know Where cap that is yellow and green, and a black watch. His head sculpt includes the cap that is sculpted on, and features the likeness of actor Gaten Matarazzo. The facial details are nicely done, including the sculpted brown hair that even pokes through the back of the cap.
Included with Dustin is the head sculpt with cassette player, hairspray, phone and the mechanical hammer.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, and swivel ankles.
Michelangelo and Donatello are repaints, and painted in dark green skin, tan chests, and brown pads and straps around their waist. Just like in the comics, they have no distinctive markings to identify which character is which, such as the belt buckle or different color bandana that you saw in the classic cartoon series. In the comic, the bandana was red for all four turtles, and no belt buckle, which carries over nicely in these figures. The head sculpts are unique, such as the mouths, and the position of the back of the bandana’s.
Included with Michelangelo is a set of his nunchucks, with real chain links, and a throwing star that looks like a waffle. Donatello includes his bo staff, as well as the throwing star waffle.
Their articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, these sets and phenomenal and offers the best of both franchises and this line is one of the most memorable in recent years from them. This crossover idea is an ingenious way to offer something different for fans, that will surely proudly display these. Make sure to pick up all four sets while you can!
