This years San Diego Comic-Con 2023 exclusives had some new Hot Wheels exclusives, including their Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler & Dr. Ian Malcolm set that is based on the 1993 film. The Hot Wheels set also comes with a window box with interchangeable art posters showcasing the first encounter with the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The Jeep Wrangler comes packaged in a box with artwork inspired from the film, including the front gate, and the jungle around it on all sides. Inside, there’s a black box with the first of the art posters shown, with the Tyrannosaurs Rex chasing Ian Malcolm as he takes a flare and lures the dinosaur away from Alan Grant. The box pulls apart to reveal both halves, one the shadow box with the art posters, and the other a diorama with the Jeep.
The art posters can be swapped out, and tells the story of the first encounter with the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The first art poster is with Ian Malcolm holding the flare, while the second one is the lawyer on the toiler, at which point he gets eaten (attorney Donald Gennaro). The next two are water puddles being shaken as the T-Rex approaches.
The window box has plastic in-front, and this box can be opened up to reveal the diorama inside. The artwork features the fences and jungle, along with the road, and the Jeep is screwed into the bottom and can also be removed.
The Jeep Wrangler is the standard Hot Wheels size car, with nicely done details including the Jurassic Park logo on the doors, JP10 on the hood, and vehicle details that looks great given its small size. Ian Malcolm is sculpted to the back and cannot be removed, with his injured leg hanging out the back. He comes in his black outfit that’s given a metallic wash. The facial details are decent given the small size. The vehicle also has details inside, including the two front seats, steering wheel and dashboard.
Overall, the Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler and Dr. Ian Malcolm set is surely is surely one you need to add to your collection, and this is one of their most popular items at this years Comic-Con. This is a great display piece, so make sure to add it to your collection while you can.
