Mattel is offering a new wave of Masterverse figures, which includes New Eternia Tri-Klops and Mekaneck, that are inspired from the 1980’s counterparts, Battle Armor and King Keldor, which are inspired from the Revelation series on Netflix. Tri-Klops is one of Skeletor’s Evil Warriors,a skilled hunter and swordsman. The rotating visor helmet allows him to see with three artificial eyes attached to it, each with a special type of vision, and he can see through the eye facing front. Depending on the media (cartoon, mini-comic, etc.),Tri-Klops can see through all three eyes at once.

Tri-Klops is packaged in a window box, with artwork of the character on the front, additional characters, including Skeletor and Beast Man on the side, images of him on the other, and the back includes images of the figure, a description and a look at the rest of the wave.
Tri-Klops is part of the New Eternia subline in Masterverse, which pays tribute to the characters 80’s designs, and he comes in his classic green and gold armor that is inspired from the vintage toy, with a green belt and a black loincloth, black boots with dark grey straps, a green rotating visor with three different eyes, and a dark metallic grey helmet, and black hair at the back. The chest armor can be removed, and includes a holster for the sword on the back.
Included with Tri-Klops are accessories from three different entertainment properties, including the vintage toy, Filmation, and the mini-comic. This includes his green sword, Filmation gold sword, two sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted and open grip), two interchangeable visors (vintage toy inspired, and Filmation inspired), and the harness that can be placed around his torso that is inspired from the mini-comic.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbow, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
This visor is inspired from the vintage toy, with the oval eyes that are red, blue and green.
This visor is inspired from the Filmation series, with the eyes given shapes, and are red, orange, and yellow.
He includes two swords, the green sword is inspired from the vintage toy, and the gold sword is inspired from the Filmation (cartoon) series. Both can be placed in his open grip hands, and the green sword is meant to be placed on the holster for it on the back of the armor.
The harness is inspired from the mini-comic, and is white, with the red, green and yellow eyes on the front. On the back of this is a holster for the gold sword.
Comparing him to what has come before, this is a new take on the character from what we’ve seen in both Masterverse and Masters of the Universe Classics. Unfortunately I could not locate his Masterverse release from several years back, but here’s a look with the two figures that came in Masters of the Universe Classics, toy inspired Tri-Klops, and the Filmation offering. Back in 2009, Mattel offered Tri-Klops as part of the very first offerings in Masters of the Universe Classics, but he had a very low production run and they never reissued him like they did with Trap Jaw and some other figures also offered in the beginning. This Masterverse release is the next best thing, and will fill in that void for those that missed out on this MOTU Classics release, which is rare and expensive on the secondary market today.
Overall, Tri-Klops is an excellent figure that fans are sure to love. There is some great attention to detail on the sculpt, and getting accessories from three different likenesses is a big bonus for fans as this has never been done before. This is definitely a great modern Tri-Klops figure that you should get for your toy shelf. You can find him and additional Masterverse figures now at BigBadToyStore. by clicking HERE!
