Bandai Namco is now offering their Super Saiyan 2 Goku and Majin Vegeta as seen in Dragon Ball Z. Super Saiyan 2 Goku includes the halo on top of his head indicating one of the times when he died in the series and was in the afterlife. Majin Vegeta is inspired from the Majin Buu Saga and Babidi cast his spell to control Vegeta as one of his minions. Majin Vegeta ultimately sacrifices himself to stop Majin Buu.

Goku and Vegeta are packaged in a window box, with artwork and logo’s of the characters on the front, images of the characters on the side, and images of the figures and logo’s on the back. They each come in a plastic tray for safe keeping, and their interchangeable hands and effect parts are beside them.
Super Saiyan 2 Goku comes in his orange and blue outfit, with dark blue boots with red trim and a beige string around the boots. The outfit we’ve seen before and the sculpt is reuse of what has come before. The head sculpt and halo are new, and the halo is made of a soft plastic and cannot be removed.
Goku includes two sets of interchangeable hands, closed fisted and open.
Majin Vegeta comes in a blue outfit, light grey gloves and boots, with gold in the front of the boot. The head sculpt includes the Majin symbol on the forehead in black, which is nicely applied.
Majin Vegeta includes two sets of interchangeable hands, and one extra right hand. This includes closed fisted, open, and the extra right hand has fingers pointing up.
Both of their articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, and ball joined ankles (with limited movement).
Comparing them to what has come before, these are versions of Goku and Vegeta we have not gotten in this line before, and it’s already great to get something you don’t already have. The halo is new for the line and even if you already own several Super Saiyan Goku’s like I do, this is a great addition to the line. Majin Vegeta is a variation you don’t get too many figures of normally, so this also warrants a new purchase especially if you’re a fan of classic Dragon Ball Z episodes.
Overall, these are great figures with attention to detail and superior likenesses that fans will surely love. The new head sculpts are a nice touch, and these versions are certainly overdue for this line. You can grab these figures now at the following stores:
