Michelangelo comes packaged in a brown mailer box (not shown), and inside, he comes in a window box with beautifully done artwork inspired from the series. The front includes logo’s and an image of him on the bottom, and the back includes additional images and a description. Michelangelo comes packaged in a plastic tray along with his accessories. He includes three sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, open grip, and neutral), two interchangeable head sculpts, a Shell Cell, and two nunchucks, and two spinning nunchucks. .

Super7 kicks off the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line that replaces what they’ve done before by offering the four turtles as seen in the animated series. Michelangelo is given a brand new sculpt that’s also reuse from the other three turtles figures in this wave, and inspired from the tv series, with dark green skin, a beige chest, light green shell, brown elbow and knee pads, harness that includes a belt. The bright green shell does closely resemble to how it looked in the cartoon, which is also a surprising color given that the turtles shells are usually brown on most other shows and action figures. The belt over the shell also has some gaps to place the nunchucks in, which is a nice touch.

Michelangelo includes two head sculpts, one with a smiling face, and the other with an closed smile. Both heads are given an orange bandana, with white eyes, and the bandana can swivel in the back.

The nunchucks come with a real chain link, which is metallic silver, and the handles are light grey, brown, orange and yellow. The spinning nunchucks can be swapped out on one end of the handles and replaces the chain link. This is a great effect piece that shows the nunchucks in action as he fights the Foot and other enemies.

The Shell Cell is given a new design and is a call phone used by the turtles. This comes in green, blue, brown and yellow deco. The open grip hands are too small for it, so the neutral hands/open hands are the best option to place it on.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel-hinged hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles. The double-hinged elbows and knees are new articulation offered in these figures.

Here is a comparison with the 2003 (reissue) figure that Playmates Toys recently released,, vintage toy-inspired Michelangelo figures that Super7 previously released, and the 2003 Leonardo Ultimate’s figure.

Overall, Michelangelo is an excellent figure with a great likeness to the source material. This is definitely a great figure that you should grab while you can. Make sure to pick him up and additional figures now at Entertainment Earth!
