The packaging for the DC Originals Tribute Series Batman is numbered as Vol. 4, as he is the fourth figure released in the series, and Harley Quinn was Vol. 1, Flash was Vol. 2, and Superman was Vol 3. The numbering is located on the lower left hand side as well as the sides. The packaging features Batman comic book artwork on the cover as if he is flying right out of the box itself, with individual comic book art behind him that also matches the inside of the packaging located behind the figure. Both of the sides and the back have Batman drawn on it, with a white and grey background for the sides and background for the back.

The inside flap is where JAKKS Pacific really got creative, with the introduction of comic covers by DC Comics of Batman, and other DC characters such as Robin, Bane, Penguin, Batgirl and others. Behind the 19″ Batman figure, there are blue and grey versions of the same comic covers printed in color. Batman is securely tied to the package with twist ties on his feet and around his elbows. To remove him, you have to open the package, slide the inside back out out, and cut the ties.

Batman stands at 19-1/4″ tall and is a repaint of the standard edition with real fabric/soft goods cape. The new 8-bit deco that is seen in classic video games from the NES Entertainment System really defines the sculpt and is simply the best repaint that JAKKS Pacific has ever done on any Big Figs release so far. That is of course our opinion, but the deco here is just so incredible that not only Big Figs collectors should buy this figure, but also gamers and Batman enthusiasts out there.

The new deco includes several shapes of grey, with light, medium, and dark grey giving his muscles a definition like never before in this scale. The deco is neat and painted with crisp lines, and covers almost every aspect about the figure, with the exception of the yellow and black logo on his chest, and the cloth cape. The 8-bit deco does appear under the yellow part of the oval Batman logo on his chest, as the logo was painted over it. It’s only noticeable over on the dark grey, and the lighter colors don’t show through. On the belt the deco has a light orange 8-bit deco over the yellow, and this goes all the way around the back. The blue cowl, gloves, shorts, and boots are painted in blue, with a light blue and black deco.

His head sculpt is extremely well done with the white eyes, and a face painted in beige, with light brown deco. Batman includes 7 points of articulation, including a swivel neck, swivel shoulders, swivel forearms, and swivel thighs. His hands are sculpted with a closed left fist, and the right in a open trigger finger position as if he’s ready to defend himself and fire a grappling hook.

As we believe this to be the best repaint in Big Figs so far, fans of Batman, DC Comics, and video game enthusiasts will definitely want to pick this one one.
