Playmates Toys shown off the second wave of their popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE crossover figures at this years New York ToyFair, which includes new variants of the four brothers. This new wave includes Leonardo as Finn Balor, Donatello as Ultimate Warrior, Michelangelo as Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Raphael as The Rock.
As announced back at NYTF, this wave will be available at most retailers, and won’t be limited to just Wal-Mart Stores. As seen in the first wave, the assortment is a mix of classic WWE Wrestling Superstars, as well as some of today’s stars. Donatello has been crossed over with two classic legends so far, with The Undertaker as seen in wave 1, and now The Ultimate Warrior. The Ultimate Warrior is a better choice for Donatello with the fact that both characters each have purple associated with them. Donatello’s bo staff is replaced with accessories for The Ultimate Warrior, which includes a breakaway table, bell, and camera.
Thank you to Playmates Toys for providing their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE Donatello As Ultimate Warrior 6″ Figure for review.
Availability: June 2017
Donatello as The Ultimate Warrior stands at slightly over 6″ tall and depicts the likeness of what Donatello would look like as if he were dressed as the WWE Wrestler The Ultimate Warrior. The figures sculpt is unique compared to the other figures in the wave, including the last waves Donatello as The Undertaker. Donatello’s head sculpt has a great likeness to both characters, which include The Ultimate Warrior’s brown hair, mask, Donatello’s missing tooth, as well as a purple ribbon on the back of his head, which is apart of the mask that is mostly hidden underneath the hair.
The body has a great likeness to Donatello as well as The Ultimate Warrior’s outfit, which includes a turtle shell and chest, chest harness and belt, Turtle elbow pads, and bandages around the fingers. The Ultimate Warrior’s costume looks great on the sculpt, which includes the ribbons on his biceps, pink bracelets on his wrists, pink knee pads that has a orange “W” on it, white shoes, and yellow, white and green ribbons over the knees. The shorts however are missing, but as this is a crossover figure and Donatello doesn’t have shorts, it’s not necessary.
Donatello comes with three accessories, which are all wrestling based and not necessary specific to The Ultimate Warrior. Included is a camera with the WWE logo, a table top that can break in half, and a bell with a hammer. The bell has a spot above it to store the hammer, which is used to signal the start of the match. The table does not include legs, and it can be held and smashed over any of the figures. The camera is nicely detailed with a view screen facing Donatello, and a lens with a light blue sticker on it.
Overall, this is great likeness to both Donatello and The Ultimate Warrior, and Playmates Toys once again did a fantastic job creating this figure. Look for the figure to ship sometime in June 2017, and you can pre-order the set of 4 at the stores listed below:
