Playmates Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE Leonardo As Finn Balor 6″ Figure Review

Playmates Toys shown off the second wave of their popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE crossover figures at this years New York ToyFair, which includes new variants of the four brothers. This new wave includes Leonardo as Finn Balor, Donatello as Ultimate Warrior, Michelangelo as Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Raphael as The Rock.

As announced back at NYTF, this wave will be available at most retailers, and won’t be limited to just Wal-Mart Stores. As seen in the first wave, the assortment is a mix of classic WWE Wrestling Superstars, as well as some of today’s stars. Leonardo has been crossed over with two modern legends so far, with John Cena as seen in wave 1, and now Finn Balor. When thinking of Leonardo, you want to choose WWE characters that are leaders, heroic, strong, and skillful. We’re not sure which WWE characters would fall under that category as it’s been since the mid-90’s that we’ve watched wrestling, so we’ll let our readers decide on that. However, the designs are great, and Finn Balor’s design is one of the most complex yet for a crossover such as this. Leonardo’s signature katana’s are replaced with accessories for Finn Balor, which includes a ring steps, NXT belt, and guard rail.

Thank you to Playmates Toys for providing their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE Leonardo As Finn Balor 6″ Figure for review.

Availability: June 2017

Leonardo as Finn Balor stands at slightly over 6″ tall and depicts the likeness of what Leonardo would look like as if he were dressed as the WWE Wrestler Finn Balor. The figures sculpt is unique compared to the other figures in the wave, including the last waves Leonardo as John Cena. Leonardo’s head sculpt has a great likeness to both characters, which include Finn Balor’s hair piece made of up of black and red, mutant teeth painted to the sides and above and below Leo’s mouth, a tongue painted on the neck, mutant teeth painted on the upper part of the chest with blood dripping down, mutant teeth on the knee pads, along with various blood stains on the shorts, shoes, and the arms. The sculpt has the green turtle arms and legs, as well as the shell and chest, his turtle belt, bandages around his hands and fingers, along with Leo’s head and blue mask.

The body has a great likeness to Leonardo as well as Finn Balor’s outfit, which includes a turtle shell and chest lower part sculpted underneath Finn Balor’s black shorts, with the brown turtle belt sculpted over the shorts. There is a lot of great detail and deco to bring out Finn Balor’s unique mutant costume, especially the detail of the teeth on the head, tongue on the neck, teeth and blood on the top part of the chest, and the knee pads. Finn Balor’ss costume looks great on the sculpt, which also includes the black knee (with the painted mutant mouth) and elbow pads, black shoes with blood stains.

Leonardo comes with three accessories, which are all wrestling based and not necessary specific to Finn Balor. Included is a title NXT belt that can wrap around his waist (this is similar to the one released in the last wave), ring steps with sculpted texture, and a guard rail. The belt and guard rail has stickers on them such as the NXT logo, and guard rail has a Turtles sticker logo.

Overall, this is great likeness to both Leonardo as Finn Balor, and Playmates Toys once again did a fantastic job creating this figure. Look for the figure to ship sometime in June 2017, and you can pre-order the set of 4 at the stores listed below:
