Playmates Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE Michelangelo As Rowdy Roddy Piper 6″ Figure Review

Playmates Toys shown off the second wave of their popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE crossover figures at this years New York ToyFair, which includes new variants of the four brothers. This new wave includes Leonardo as Finn Balor, Donatello as Ultimate Warrior, Michelangelo as Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Raphael as The Rock.

As announced back at NYTF, this wave will be available at most retailers, and won’t be limited to just Wal-Mart Stores. As seen in the first wave, the assortment is a mix of classic WWE Wrestling Superstars, as well as some of today’s stars. Michelangelo has been crossed over with classic legends so far, with Macho Man Randy Savage as seen in wave 1, and now Rowdy Roddy Piper. Michelangelo works well with Rowdy Roddy Piper as both characters share orange deco, as seen on Roddy Piper’s logo, and Mikey’s mask and elbow pads. Michelangelo’s signature nunchucks’s are replaced with accessories for Rowdy Roddy Piper, which includes belt, bagpipe, and microphone.

Thank you to Playmates Toys for providing their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles WWE Michelangelo As Rowdy Roddy Piper 6″ Figure for review.

Availability: June 2017

Michelangelo as Rowdy Roddy Piper stands at slightly over 6″ tall and depicts the likeness of what Michelangelo would look like as if he were dressed as the WWE Wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper. The figures sculpt is unique compared to the other figures in the wave, including the last waves Michelangelo as Rowdy Roddy Piper. Michelangelo’s head sculpt has a great likeness to both characters, which include Rowdy Roddy Piper’s hair piece made of up of long brown hair. The rest of the head sculpt has Mikey’s likeness, which includes the orange mask that goes all the way around back and is sculpted underneath the hair piece, but is also sculpted over it on the back, and the face and likeness belongs to Mikey.

Michelangelo is sculpted with the clothing and likeness of Rowdy Roddy Piper. This includes a white tee shirt, with red trim around the collar and arms, and the Hot Rod logo on the shirt. Roddy Piper‘s black belt with a silver buckle, and red and white kilt covers Mikey’s lower stomach and upper legs. The kilt is made of plastic, and has a great likeness to Roddy Piper’s. There are also blue knee pads, and brown shoes with white shoe laces sculpted and painted, and the words RP painted on the sides. His arms has the orange elbow pads, and white bandages over the wrist and fingers. The sculpt has the turtle shell and chest sculpted underneath the clothing, and the overall likeness is just really good.

He comes with three accessories, which are all wrestling based and not necessary specific to Rowdy Roddy Piper. Included is a title belt, bagpipe, and microphone. The belt is made with a plastic chain link, and there is a texture on the front and good likeness of Roddy Pipper’s belt. The bagpipe is nicely done and is also covered in a texture looks like the skin of a reptile, and four pipes sticking up on top. The Microphone is the same as the one that came with Raphael, and has the WWE and Turtles logo on 2/4 sides.

Overall, this is great likeness to both Michelangelo as Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Playmates Toys once again did a fantastic job creating this figure. Look for the figure to ship sometime in June 2017, and you can pre-order the set of 4 at the stores listed below:
