Freddy Krueger is based on the third installment of the film franchise, A Nightmare on Elm Street – Dream Warriors, and depicts the likeness of several scenes from the film. Freddy stands at almost 20″ tall and has an excellent likeness to the film. The chest of souls attaches to the chest, and can be swapped out with the sweater piece. The chest of souls shows four human heads that were victims of his now trapped inside his body. The chest piece also shows the burned flesh that was previously just seen on his head, neck and hands, and the faces are very nicely detailed with superiors sculpting showcasing the eyes, nose, teeth, and even the tongue. The facial expressions shows the horror that these victims are facing as they are trapped inside unable to break free.

The paint apps on this chest piece are also very nicely done, and the torn sweater around it hangs down to the right with the torn piece along the edges of the chest. This piece by pop right off and some of the sweater details, such as the torn bottom part look to be identical. The collar however is more torn and stretched out on this piece than the striped sweater piece.

While the figure does not include interchangeable hand sculpts, both the gloved and ungloved hands are easy to remove, and might even be compatible with the other Freddy 1/4″ scale figures previously released (you would need to try that and let us know). The ungloved hand includes the burned flesh as the rest of the body, with additional details such as fingernails, and lines in the palm. The gloved hand is very detailed with the long sharp claws, with two facing out, and two facing in. The fingers are non-articualted, and the glove looks like leather with the worn look, as the strong detailed paint apps accomplish this very well. The glove is nicely done, with realistic looking folds, paint wash, and even the gold plate, gold and silver buttons are nicely done. The fingers are shown inside the glove, with gold rings, and straps holding them in place. The blades are painted in silver, and look warn thanks to the black wash over it, which also makes it look realistic.

The head sculpts are also based on several scenes as seen in the film, with both featuring an evil looking smirk on his face. The grinning head sculpt shows the teeth together, and the teeth are painted in grey and don’t look like they’ve been brushed since he had died. The eyes look like they’re glaring on both head sculpts, which is just terrifying to look at. The other head sculpt has the burned cross mark on the forehead, and behind it is an opening so light can pass through it to light up the cross. This was also one on the 7″ figure, and still looks great. The mouth is side open as if he’s launching with that iconic laugh of his.

Freddy is sculpted in his iconic red and green striped sweater, with sculpted texture bring out the detail in sever inch of the figure. There is also black wash between the lines, which is a great touch. The paints are dark grey, with a lighter wash to show some worn looks and to make it more realistic. The shoes are also nicely sculpted and look realistic, with show cases, paint wash, folds, and looks accurate to the film.

The articulation is pretty much the same as the 7″ figure, and features a ball jointed neck, swivel head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, ball jointed wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, and ball jointed ankles.

Overall, this is an excellent figure, with superior sculpting, deco, and detail that every horror fan will love.
