Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime transformers from a Western Star truck, into a giant alien robot. With each Transformers Movie, Optimus Prime’s likeness has changed a little, and Hasbro released different variations of toys over the years based on the film. This figure is a voyager-class Transformer, and is an exclusive re-deco from the retail version. The vehicle mode has a distinct likeness to a Western star truck, and includes a red and blue metallic premium finish, with light grey and silver deco. The sides of the cabe also have red flames next to the doors, and blue flames on the hood as well as the sides. The tires are painted black and made of plastic (ideally rubber is the way to go, and someday we hope to see Hasbro return to rubber tires), with silver rims. Both the sword and shield can be stored in this mode, with the shield on the back, and the sword can be placed in between the pipes in the holster. There are only two Autobot symbols on the figure, with both being located on the sides of the hood.
In robot mode, Optimus Prime looks like an alien robot, with all of the details and likeness as seen in the upcoming film. In this mode, the red and blue deco is more spread out, and there is silver, dark grey and light grey deco on various parts of the sculpt. The head sculpt looks a little smaller than it should be given the size of the torso, and keeps to the likeness as seen in the film. The helmet part of the head is painted in metallic blue, and the facial part is silver with light blue eyes. The best is mosty silver, with additional pieces of armor over it that is painted in red, and parts of it have the blue flames that is better seen in vehicle mode. The arms are mostly dark grey, wit the sides red and blue, and the shield can be placed in the hole on the side. The sword can be placed in one, or both hands, and can also be stored on his back in the holster. Both the sword and shield have detailed sculpting, including lines, curves, and symbols.
The upper part of the legs are dark grey, with the lower part is blue, silver, gold, and light grey. The sides of the legs are the front of the truck, with the blue flames and front tires. The articulation is decent for the size of the figure, and includes a ball jointed neck (with limited range of motion as the shoulders block some of the movement), ball-hinged elbows, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel waist, swivel thighs, and hinged knees.
Overall, this is a great figure with superior deco and a great movie likeness. This particular version is worth owning just for the deco.
