NECA Toys is expanding their offerings with these head stands that are compatible with most 6-8″ figures. These stands are geared towards collectors that are looking to enhance their display, and giving them the option to showcase extra head sculpts that are included with figures. Each pack comes with three stands, and there are multiple interchange pegs designed to hold several different scales of heads. The stands are not only compatible with NECA figures, but also many other figures from other companies such as McFarlane Toys, Marvel Legends, Mythic Legions, Mattel, Diamond Select Toys and more.

The head stands are sealed in a clamshell packaging, and there are three stands per pack, and five different interchangeable pegs per stand, making a total of 15 per pack. The packaging also has a retro 1980’s look to it, which was truly a great decade for toys.
The head stands are cast in a strong, with a little weight to it, all black plastic that features interchangeable pegs to fit many different scales and styles of head sculpts. The bottom portion has extra weight to it, as this allows the stands to stand up right without falling over when a head sculpt is attached. The pegs themselves are attached to the top of the stand, and to swap out the different sizes, you need to twist the top part counterclockwise wise to remove. These pieces are easily switched out, and locks into place into the stand for display purposes. Below the peg once it’s connected to the stand, is another piece that is glued on, which attaches the peg to the stand. This piece could break if excess force is applied when attempted to remove the peg. So use some caution when swapping out the pegs.
As there are different sizes of pegs, including ball jointed, a cylinder shape, and a slanted cylinder shape. Each shape is compatible to different head sculpts made by different companies. In the gallery, we used some head sculpts made in recent years from Diamond Select Toys, Mattel, Hasbro, DC Collectibles, Four Horsemen Studios (Mythic Legions) and of course, NECA Toys. The ball jointed pegs work well with NECA Toys, Marvel Legends, Mattel’s DC Multiverse, and various other lines. These are best used for most figures that have a ball jointed neck, and that can be removed without breakage.
The cylinder shape pegs are best used for DST’s Minimates, Mythic Legions, NECA Toys Predator figures, and some DC Collectibles figures. There is no written rule about these stands, and it takes trial and error to see what works and what doesn’t. We did attempt to use these for the 8″ Home Alone Clothed figures by NECA Toys, and found that test to be unsuccessful. But that doesn’t mean that other 8″ figures won’t be compatible with these, we just don’t have any others in the office to try it out on. As you can see, you don’t necessarily need to own any figure by NECA to use these, as they are compatible with many other toy lines made by many other companies.
Overall, with a value of just $7 per pack, these are incredibly detailed stands that works well with most 6-8″ figures, along with 2″ Minimates. The only problem we see are some scuff marks on the stands themselves from the factory.
