Availability: October 2017
Snowman Jack is sculpted in his white and black outfit with the brick body, with a newly tooled layer placed over it that looks like three balls of show. This piece has buttons on the top two layers, and the bat bow tie comes unattached in package. The head sculpt looks like another layer of show, with a tall green top hat on top. Included is an umbrella that is painted in green, and a candy cane handle with red and white stripes. Oogie Boogie can now glow-in-the-dark, and is a repaint of the first release from way back in series 1. The sculpt has some texture on the bottom, and smooth on top. It also has two overlay pieces (top and bottom) that rests over the basic minimates block. His head sculpt includes eyes and a mouth that are painted in black. Included is an acrylic figure stand.
Devil is painted in red on his skin, and has a black outfit placed over the minimate block. The head has facial details painted on and in yellow, and the nose is painted downward to look like it’s long and hangs over the mouth. This is definitely a nice tough without the extra tooling costs. The horns are placed on either side of the head, and the goatee hangs below the chin. Included is the pitchfork that is painted in red. The shoes and hands are painted in black to represent shoes and gloves. Corpse Boy is short, round and chubby as he appeared in the film, and includes newly sculpted piece placed over the minimate block. The shirt is painted in red and white stripes, with some of the white looking a bit worn. Corpse Boy is a zombie, and is painted in light grey skin, with painted facial details including a black mouth and closed green eyes. Included is an acrylic figure stand.
Zombie Sax Player is painted in a dark purple and black striped suit, and is a match to the other musicians seen below. The jacket is a newly sculpted piece that is placed over the minimate block, and the pants and sleeves are painted. Underneath the jacket, is a white shirt with black spider tie, and light grey shoes. The facial details look good, with the mouth looking like it’s stitched closed and the eyes look possessed and lifeless. The sax is painted in silver and black, and the bottom part has a face with sharp teeth. Undersea Gal is a sea creature, with the legs being a Finn, and the head sculpt and hands definitely look the part with the extra pieces sculpted on the head, including the ears and Finn on top of his head. The hands are webbed, and the entire sculpt is painted in green, with some black deco highlighting the detail on the skin. The lips are painted in pink, and the eyes are yellow with black lines detailing these features. Included is an acrylic figure stand.
Like Corpse Boy, Igor is short, round and chubby and has a newly sculpted lab coat placed over the minimate block. The lab coat includes blue patches on the front, sides, back and a red one on top. The coat is painted in a light grey, and he has green gloves, black pants, and grey shoes. This is a unique minimate, as it has the hump higher than the head sculpt all done by using blocks. If you look underneath the coat, the head is not attached to the body, and instead is placed in front of it so that the block can lift the coat higher than the head. The facial details are nicely done, with the large open eye ball, closed eye, and mouth will missing teeth. Dr. Finkelstein is the same figure as seen with Series 1, except now he can also glow-in-the-dark. The top of the head can lift to unveil his brain, and he is sculpted in a lab coat. Included is a wheel chair for him to sit on. The wheel chair does not have rotating wheels. The wheel chair is painted in dark grey, and has stitches sculpted on the back. Included is an acrylic figure stand.
This two pack is only available at Toys “R” Us.
The band is together again, and this two pack completes the set. The Zombie Bass Player is short, round, and chubby and includes a newly sculpted piece placed over the minimate block. Both figures are painted in a dark purple and black striped suit. The pants and sleeves are also painted in this style, except that for the Bass Player his legs are painted only in purple as they are mostly covered up by the jacket. Underneath the jacket, is a white shirt with black spider tie, and light grey shoes. The facial details look good, with the mouth looking like it’s stitched with a slightly open position with both eyes wide open. The Zombie Accordionist has a slight open mouth, with the left eye slightly larger than the right eye. There is also stitches painted on both of their head sculpts, with nicely detailed lines. The Bass is nicely detailed and has the shape of a coffin, with bones sticking up on top. This is painted in brown with black strings, and light grey bones. The Accordion looks like a fish with an open mouth and Finn on the end. This is painted in free, with silver handles attached to circular bracelets so he can play it. Included is an acrylic figure stand.
This two pack is only available at Toys “R” Us.
Overall, this is an excellent set, and there character selection and detail is truly excellent. Fans of the film will love this wave.
