NECA Toys is now offering the Ultimate edition Freddy Krueger figure based on A Nightmare On Elm Street 2, which was released in 1985. The film follows the events from the first film, and Freddy continues to claim victims in the real world. This new release from NECA features updated articulation, including the legs. The packaging is a recreation of the original movie poster, and is a window box with artwork and images of the figures inside.

Freddy Krueger stands at 7-1/4″ tall, and is based on his appearance as seen in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge from 1985. The figure is sculpted in his red and green striped sweater, which is covered in texture. This Ultimate release features articulation legs, which is a common offering of these updated figures. Freddy’s skin is badly burned, and between the sculpting and the deco given to his detail it looks just like it does in the film. The three head sculpts are based on different scenes from the film, which includes different facial expressions, and on the screaming one his brand is visible on the right side. The head sculpts have completely unique sculpting to each other, and the detail on the decay of the flesh, and the ears, eyes, nose and mouth is all completely different. The eyes and teeth have the best detail and deco applied to it, and the screaming head sculpt showcases his tongue.
Freddy includes a flame attachment that can be placed on his back and held together by a magnet that is inside his body and flame itself. The flame is made of orange translucent plastic, with a light wash over it. The flame is nicely detailed and the flame is raised above his head. The two hand sculpts are gloved, and ungloved. The gloved hand sculpt has two of the blades touching, and the ungloved hand sculpt has the blades spread apart. The hat can be placed on any of the three head sculpts, and can also be placed on while the flame attachment is on his back.
The two Dogs were briefly shown in the film, and NECA has outdone themselves with offering these in his box. The bodies of the dogs are not articulated, and have the appearance of a Rottweiler. There is a spiked chain around both of the heads, which are unique to each other. The heads sculpts are human looking with black hair, and the facial details resemble that of a human. The facial details include eyes, nose, ears and a mouth, and the skin has some lumps and bruises. The heads are both ball jointed with limited range of motion.
