Funko completely shocked us this year with the unveiling of several new lines of retro style figures, including the long awaited return of ThunderCats, which includes Lion-O, Mumm-Ra transformed, Panthro, Cheetara, Slithe, Jackalman, and Tygra. The ThunderCats figure, should see release later this year, assuming there is enough interest in them.
On a side note, fans of the franchise may still have a sore spot with the brand following Mattel’s abrupt cancellation of MattyCollector, and with it, the Four Horsemen styled ThunderCats 6″ figures. Even with numerous fan campaigns to keep that line going, it looks like Warner Bros. has other things planned for the brand. These retro styled ThunderCats figures are NOT sculpted by the Four Horsemen. Should the first wave sell well, fans can hope for additional characters. Should this line be dropped, we’re hoping to see the brand continue in some way in the near figure.
Horror icons will get retro 80’s inspired figures, which includes Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface and more.
Also shown are Conan the Barbarian figures.
The Mortal Kombat retro figures are available now and are priced at $14.99 each. Although, we found listings on Amazon.com that has these figures listed at $10 and up.
