The Disney Store is now offering their exclusive Marvel Toy Box Captain America, Black Widow and Black Panther figures, which are both available in stores and online. The Marvel Toy Box figures are based on the Disney: Infinity game designs, and are re-engineered and articulated. In the game, franchises could interact throughout all of Disney’s properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Disney/Pixar characters. Fans of that game can now collect highly detailed and articulated figures based on those designs.
Recently, Disney Store announced additional characters that will be included to the Toy Box line-up, which includes Captain America and Star-Lord for Marvel, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Princess Leia for Star Wars, and The Incredibles – Mr Incredible, Mrs Incredible, Violet and Dash for Pixar.

Disney Infinity was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness. Captain America, Black Widow and Black Panther are the latest offerings in the Toy Box line, with other characters, as mentioned above to join the line at some point in the near future.
Captain America stands at roughly 5 1/4″ tall and is numbered as #7 on the packaging. Captain America is re-engineered and updated a bit with a brief likeness to how he was seen in the game, and the costume best matches to the live action Captain America: Civil War film. This figure is an animated recreation of the suit, with a big white star on his chest and the red and white stripes underneath, along with a mostly blue suit with some red stripes on the arms and legs. The suit has some nicely sculpted detail with good paint applications highlighting some of this, especially the detail on the chest, arms and legs. The shoulder pads are on a hinge joint, with an Avengers logo on the side. The hands and feet have the same black deco with details such as straps on the boots, and silver deco on the gloves. The belt is sculpted around his waist and includes a grey belt buckle with black pouches on both sides of it.
His head sculpt is nicely done and the figure is masked with the big A on top, along with the wings on the side. The mask is attached to straps that are painted in brown and are on the lower portion of his head including his chin. HIs facial details are nicely done, including his blue eyes, nose and mouth, which are sculpted differently as seen in the Disney Infinity game.
Included with Captain America is his iconic shield, which is painted in red, white and blue. The shield has a white star at the center, with a pin/clip feature on the back. The pin can be placed inside his back for easy storage.
Captain America is also nicely articulated, which includes a swivel-hinged neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Overall, Disney Infinite was a great video game, and we are loving this new line by Disney. The Marvel Toy Box figures are great additions to any Marvel toy collection, and definitely something that all fans should own. Captain America features a great sculpt and excellent quality.
