Hasbro Marvel & Solo: A Star Wars Story Mighty Muggs Figures Review

 

Hasbro’s new Mighty Muggs continues to offer the latest characters and designs in pop culture since their initial launch last year, These new offerings include figures based on Marvel – Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story. This year, fans will see at least 50 new Mighty Muggs as announced during New York ToyFair, which will include Transformers and My Little Pony joining the line. The Transformers Mighty Muggs include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream. These will be available in Spring 2018.

Already, fans have seen both Marvel and Star Wars Mighty Muggs expand with many new reveals since it was originally announced during New York Comic-Con last year. Hasbro is re-imagining the old style and offering fans something new, and these Mighty Muggs features alternate facial expressions that change when the head is pressed down. At ToyFair, Hasbro announced a new wave of Marvel Mighty Muggs, which includes Ant-Man, Wasp, Thanos, Captain America, Iron Man, Star-Lord and Thor, which Captain America and Iron Man are featured here.

Mighty Muggs is already a growing brand and Hasbro seems to have confidence in it given the fact that they announced two additional properties as mentioned above. This is definitely a good sign for fans of this line, and the line certainly has potential to continue to grow and expand with more characters and more franchises such as G.I. Joe and Power Rangers.

Hasbro’s newly released Marvel and Solo: A Star Wars Story Mighty Muggs are available now and these are the latest offerings of this line. For Marvel, fans can look for Thanos, Ant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man, Captain America, Star-Lord and Thor all based on their comic appearances. Solo: A Star Wars Story will include Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, Qi’ra and a Stormtrooper. Full details and images about these lines can be found HERE.

  

 

Captain America is painted in a dark blue uniform and white stripes across his chest, arms and back, with stars on the center of his chest, and shoulders. There is also brown straps around his chest and back, and the white stripes stop where they meet. He is also given a brown belt with a silver belt buckle, brown gloves and boots. His facial expressions including happy/smiling, grinning, and an angry face showing his teeth. His hair is a light brown, and this piece is made of vinyl. The facial details and paint applications are nicely done and detailed. The shield has the classic red, white and blue stripes with a white star at the center, and can be removed from his hand.

   

 

Iron Man is in his red and gold armor, which is painted in metallic that gives it a nice shine. There are also black lines on his chest and back, as well as the reactor in light blue and white. The helmet is made of vinyl, and includes some sculpted detail including grooves and patterns. Most of the armor is red, with parts of it are given the metallic gold on the legs and arms, as well as the helmet, and around the edges of Tony Stark’s head. The facial expressions include a faceplate, Tony Stark and Tony Stark with glasses.

  

 

Qi’ra is painted in her beige jacket, a black undershirt and pants. The jacket is open to reveal the undershirt, and is folded open on the top part.In addition, she also has a silver belt around her waist, and there are black lines on her armor. The hair is paint in brown and has a pony tail in the back, and this is also made of vinyl. The facial details include a closed mouth with eyes looking to the side, a happy face with closed eyes, and an angry face with eyes looking straight ahead.

 

 

The Stormtrooper is in the standard white uniform with black trim, with details including a belt on the chest, back and legs painted in grey. The arms have black lines and gloves with some white deco on the back. The helmet is made of vinyl, with black trim across the top, blue lines on the sides, a black speaker, and dark grey pieces over the ears and above the black trim on top of the helmet. The facial details including a standard helmet, an angry expression, and an expression with one eye larger than the other.

Each of these figures also have swivel shoulders, so that the arms can move up and down.

Overall, the new Mighty Muggs are nice looking collectibles with great paint applications and fun facial expressions. Fans of all ages will like these, including those that collected to the original line.
