Mattel WWE Elite Collection Series 61 Figures Review

 

On August 17th, fans will be able to purchase this assortment at the Amazon Treasure Truck at the Brooklyn Cyclones Stadium. This is part of this years Summer Slam event, which includes celebrity signings and giveaways. Additional details about the event can be found HERE. This assortment includes AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Tyler Breeze, Fandango and Big E. Also available and shown on the packaging is Shane McMahon. These figures are highly detailed and come in the Elite style and articulation.

In addition, Mattel sent along a new update about the schedule of the event:

Each of the Elite figures comes with a diorama backing and figure stand as previously seen in other waves. The diorama is an image of the wrestler, and the figure stands in front of it and placed on the stand with the peg going through his foot to help him stand.

 

The WWE Fashion Police includes Tyler Breeze and Fandango, and both figures are dressed similar with detailed paint applications including and a highly stylized detailed figure sculpting. The shirts are made of soft goods with velcro on the back to hold it in place, and has an image of a police badge in the front. The pants include some detailed lettering down the sides, including the words Fashion Line Do Not Cross, as well as additional detailed paint. Both of the shirts are removable, and each figure comes with a hat with a police badge on it, and sunglasses. The wrists are covered in wrist band, and Tyler Breeze’s lower legs are covered in a mesh of pink and black piece of clothing. Tyler also comes with a selfie stick with a camera attached, and the selfie stick looks to be made of a pink fur, that’s a hard plastic. Their head sculpts are nicely detailed and look great. Tyler includes blonde hair with a ponytail, and Fandango includes black hair, a black beard and a mustache.

 

AJ Styles comes wit ha removable vest that is nicely detailed and painted with white deco on the front, and a logo on his back. The vest is made of soft plastic, and has a removable hoodie that is interchangeable with the extra one that is included, and one is folded down, and the other is raised up and goes over his head. The vest is also removable, revealing the chest hair and tattoos underneath. The pants are cast in black, with detailed paint applications and letting on the boots and thighs. His right elbow includes an elbow pad, and he has blue and red gloves, each with detailed lettering including the words AJ Styles. His head sculpt is nicely done, and includes long blonde hair, a beard and a mustache. The hair gets in the way of the hoodie, which makes his head turn to the side a little bit.


 

Kevin Owens is sculpted in his black shirt and pants, with detailed letting in red with white trim around it on the shirt, that has the words KO on it. The legs also have the words KO and Fight painted in red, and the right leg has white stripes on it. He also has a tattoo on his right shoulder, which is painted in black. The rest of his outfit is cast in black, including the boots and gloves. His head sculpt is nicely done and includes short black hair, with a wash featuring a beard and mustache. Included with Kevin Owens is a WWE wrestling belt, and a microphone.

 

Big E has some of the most detailed paint applications in the wave, which includes a red, white and blue American flag long jacket, and a wrestling outfit underneath. The jacket is made of a soft plastic, and its difficult to remove. On the back of the jacket, front of the wrestling outfit, and on the sides of his boots, are cartoon drawings of him, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. The animations are nicely detailed and each includes a different color skin color and detailed facial expressions. His head sculpt includes black hair, a mustache and a beard, and the mouth is open as if he yelling of screaming. The details of the mouth of really well done, including the teeth, tongue and facial expression. His wrists are also painted with a black wrist band, and the boots are painted in yellow with white on the bottom sole.

Overall, WWE Elite Series 61 is an excellent figure assortment with superior figure quality, attention to detail, and strong paint applications. Mattel continues to improve on this and the detail shows it.
