Mattel – WWE Zombies Series 3 Figures Review

Mattel’s WWE Zombies Series 3 includes six new characters just in time for Halloween. This line-up includes Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Charlotte Flair, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Kane all zombified and fit in nicely with the previously offered zombie figures. Charlotte Flair is the only figure in the line from the Elite Series, which includes more articulation and detail, and the rest of the series is part of the basic assortment.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2018, we learned that Mattel will be holding off on making more of these great Zombie figures as part of their WWE line-up, which we believe is most unfortunate as this has been one of our favorites, especially the Mutants and Monsters lines. So if you like what you see, make sure to keep using the hashtags #TellMattel #WeWantMoreSheRa and #WeWantMoreMOTU. They did not offer one for the WWE brand, so make sure to specify that in your social media posts that you want more WWE Zombies, Mutants and Monsters made.

Thank you to Mattel for providing their WWE Zombies Series 3 Shinsuke Nakamura figure for review.

Availability: October 2018

WWE Zombies Series 3 features some retooling of previously offered figures, and each figure features decaying flesh with some having skeletal structures being shown. Shinsuke Nakamura and Charlotte Flair have the least amount of decaying flesh, but Shinsuke Nakamura does have a skeletal right hand, and his head sculpt does look zombified. Charlotte Flair features a removable outfit that is made of soft plastic, and the only zombified detail she has on her body is the left side of her face. There is also some blood on her left boot, and she has a tattoo saying “A Little Patience” on her right forearm.

Kane, Finn Balor, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy have the most decaying flesh detail in this wave, which all look incredibly detailed and disgusting all at the same time. Kane‘s upper torso, right arm, shoulder, and face features all decayed flesh that is rotten out and painted in red and black deco. His left forearm also has skeletal remains, which is an excellent touch. Finn Balor‘s head is hanging on by a thread, or more accurately the skeletal remains of his spine. His entire neck is gone and only the spine remains. In addition to that, his demon detail has some retooling featuring some skeletal remains inside his chest, as well as his upper back including decaying flesh, and left arm. The bottom half of his head is also gone, such as his mouth and chin, and it looks like he may have been completely devoured. Jeff Hardy‘s head sculpt is zombified, and he has some decay on the left side of his face, along with a zombie-like expression on his face. Both of his arms also have decaying flesh that are painted in red to indicate blood and intestines. There is also some dirt or dried blood on the lower portions of his pants. Matt Hardy has some of the more zombie-like features that looks as good as Finn Balor’s details. This includes the lower portion of his waist missing and his spine is the only thing keeping his body from splitting into two parts. The spine is visible, and there is some great detail here such as decaying flesh and intestines hanging down. His upper left peck also has some decaying flesh with intestines showing, and the lower portion of his pants have dried blood or dirt.

Overall, the attention to detail, paint applications and qualify of the figures are excellent. Since The Walking Dead, Zombies have become popular again and we’re loving the crossover with the WWE. Finn Balor and Matt Hardy are two of our figures in this line, as they offer the most zombie-like detail. The rest of the wave looks exceptional as well, and we’re loving that the Elite Charlotte Flair sculpt made it into the line as well. If you like what you see, make sure to purchase this wave, and go #TELLMATTEL to make more WWE Zombies.
