Disney Infinity was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness.
Thanos features an impressive figure sculpt with additional armor than as he appeared in the game, and the armor covers almost his entire body. In the game, parts of his purple skin are seen in the chest, arms and legs, and this figure is almost completely covered in armor. Only the head and arms showcase the skin, which has the armor sculpted on. The head sculpt is helmeted with a gold and metallic black deco. The armor has sculpted grooves, details and patterns as part of the overall design, which looks great and works well for Thanos.
The armor is primarily gold, with metallic black deco on the chest, black straps and additional black deco around the hips that is around the gold. The shoulder guards are made of a soft plastic, as is the armor around the hips. The legs are mostly covered in the gold armor, with black deco that appears to have a metallic green finish.
Thanos comes with two different Infinity Guantlets, with both of them being removable. This is a rare concept for a Thanos figure, as most Thanos figures ever made have always had the Infinity Gauntletsculpted on. This Infinity Gauntlet can be placed in the grip of his hand, and covers the outer part of his forearm. It has sculpted details, along with each of the Infinity Stones painted and part of the sculpt. This is a bit of an unusual design for the Infinity Gauntlet, but does work surprisingly well.
The other Infinity Gauntlet has an energy effect around it that looks like a ball of flame. The Infinity Gauntlet is sculpted at the center, and slides right into his hand and arm as this is the design that fans are more used too. This effect is nicely done, and has yellow and orange deco giving it some great detail.
Thanos is also fully articulation, with a ball jointed neck, ball jointed shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Thanos is an excellent figure and we particularly like the interchangeable Infinity Gauntlets for various display and play options, along with a great figure sculpt that fans will love. He is available to purchase right now along with many more Toy Box figures at The Disney Store.
