Hasbro Marvel Legends The First Ten Years Ronan The Accuser Figure Review

Hasbro’s new line-up of Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years offerings in the Marvel Legends brand offers fans character not previously offered in the movie lines from years past, which includes Ronan the Accuser as he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy. Ronan the Accuser joins other villains not previously in the movie lines, including the Red Skull, Crossbones, Yellowjacket and Trevor. This 10-year anniversary line helps complete some of the movie collections and fills in some much needed gaps of characters what weren’t offered before.

Thank you to Hasbro for providing their Marvel Legends The First Ten Years Ronan The Accuser Figure for review.

Availability: July 2018

Ronan the Accuser made a brief appearance in the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy film, and this figure is pretty much identical to his on screen appearance. Ronan the Accuser stands at just under 7″ tall and features a sculpt with sculpted details and textures. His head sculpt is nicely done, and he given blue skin (he’s a Kree after all), and black deco around the eyes, down the cheeks, on the chin as down the center of the neck as seen in the movie. The hood is attached to the head and the shoulder pads move along with the head, so they don’t always line-up with the shoulders and can go off to the sides. This is an unfortunate problem with the figure, but this looks to be more of a movie design flaw, and if Hasbro made changes, it would have affected his shoulder articulation.

The armor itself is perfection, and is packed with all kinds of sculpted details and textures that make the figure look great. Every bit of detail is given to this figure, including the textures on the skirt. The paint applications are black, dark grey, and silver, which works well together and there is red deco on his chest and upper back. The hammer is nicely designed and also given sculpted details and textures, and that purple gem on the hammer looks great.

His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Overall, Ronan the Acceser was necessary as the Guardians of the Galaxy needed another villain on the toy shelf, and this figure makes a great representation of his movie design. With New York ToyFair 2019 approaching, we believe that Hasbro will be offering some great Marvel Legends figures. Stay tuned for coverage.
