Hasbro’s new line-up of Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years offerings in the Marvel Legends brand offers fans character not previously offered in the movie lines from years past, which includes Ronan the Accuser as he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy. Ronan the Accuser joins other villains not previously in the movie lines, including the Red Skull, Crossbones, Yellowjacket and Trevor. This 10-year anniversary line helps complete some of the movie collections and fills in some much needed gaps of characters what weren’t offered before.

Thank you to Hasbro for providing their Marvel Legends 6″ Cinematic Universe 10th Anniversary Ant-Man & Yellowjacket Figures for review.

Availability: July/August 2018

Hasbro’s new Ant-Man and Yellowjacket figures are inspired by the first Ant-Man Movie from 2015, and both figures feature a detailed figure sculpt. The figures are packaged in a window style box with artwork of The First Ten Years line by Hasbro, along with movie stills and a description on the sides, and a movie poster and bio of the characters on the back.

Ant-Man is a repaint from an existing figure already released from the first Ant-Man Movie line, and this is also inspired by his first movie. The figures head is updated with a breathing mask over the mouth, and the paint applications are a bit more clean and precise than the previous offering. The comparison pic is from the Ant-Man 2 Movie line, so we did not have the first movie figure readily available to photoshoot. The bright red deco works well with the black parts of the suit, and the silver belt, and other components stands out in the red and black. The mask itself it grey, with red and black deco. Ant-Man includes a Scott Lang head sculpt, which features a great likeness, as well as a tiny version of him.

Yellowjacket is truly the gem of this set, as for whatever reason the character wasn’t offered before. The sculpt includes some great sculpted detail on the suit, and is painted in yellow and cast in black. The yellow parts of the suit have the sculpted texture, and the figure includes a removable backpack with articulated arms The lower arms are longer, and have have three points of articulation (two swivel/hinges and a single hinge) and the upper arms are on a swivel/hinge. The head sculpt looks great, with the translucent yellow goggles and black helmet. Yellowjacket also include a mini figure of himself. Both the mini figures of Ant-Man and Yellowjacket are hard to stand by themselves, but the detail for this size looks great.

The articulation for both figures is what you would expect for modern Marvel Legends. Yellowjacket ab crunch doesn’t move, and the ankle joint features a floating hinge joint so it swivels at the connection to the ankle and the foot.

Overall, Ant-Man and Yellowjacket are great figures with superb likenesses and sculpts.
