The Disney Store is now offering four new Toy Box figures from their Disney and Marvel offerings, which includes Minnie Mouse, Stitch, Miles Morales and Iron Man. The Toy Box figures are based on the Disney: Infinity game designs, and are re-engineered and articulated. In the game, franchises could interact throughout all of Disney’s properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Disney/Pixar characters. Fans of that game can now collect highly detailed and articulated figures based on those designs.
On the brochure inserted into the package, two new Toy Box characters have been revealed, including Genie from Aladdin, and a character from Incredibles 2.
Thank you to Disney and The Disney Store for providing their Marvel Toy Box Iron Man & Miles Morales Figures for review.
Availability: December 2018
Disney Infinity was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness.
This is the update to Iron Man that fans have been waiting for, which includes the red, gold and silver armor as seen in the movies, and this version of Iron Man is different than what is seen in the DisneyInfinity game. The figure is a repaint from the first Iron Man figure released way back in the first series, and this new deco brings out the details in the sculpt. This is one of Iron Man’s most advanced suits of armor, that is similar to what was seen in Avengers: Infinity War. The suit is mostly red, and includes an Arc Reactor on his chest, a gold faceplate and red helmet, and the overall design has gold and silver deco. We’re not sure which version of the armor it is, but believe it’s Mark 45-50, as the official details don’t specify this. The paint applications on the gold and silver on really good, and the sculpting and detail on this looks great. Included with Iron Man is a repulsor blast that clips onto his wrist, as opposed to plugging into his hand as that would have been the approach that other toy companies have done.
Iron Man is loaded with articulation, which includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, hinged-swivel elbows, swivel wrists, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Miles Morales has been gaining in popularity right now following his successful animated movie currently in theaters, and this new figure by Disney Store is a nice looking figure. Miles Morales is the second Spider-Man, and is from an alternate reality where Peter Parker died in battle. He is in his iconic black suit with red stripes, spider on his chest, fingers, trim around his feet, trim around his eyes, and white eyes. There is also webbing sculpted on his chest, shoulders and mask, that is black. The figure is also a repaint and retool of the existing mold from the very first wave ,and some of the webbing sculpting on his forearms and feet have been swapped out with smooth parts. Including with Miles Morales is the retractable webbing accessory with a suction cup that can stick to glass or other surfaces.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Overall, both Iron Man and Miles Morales are excellent figures with great likenesses to the comics and movies, and Marvel fans will surely love the sculpts and paint applications on these.
