“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is packaged in the retro GameFest inspired packaging that is similar with what was offered with Honky Talk Man, Macho Man Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair. The packaging pays a great tribute to the classic video game of the WWF that so many children played with and spent many hours and quarters on this classic game. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is featured on both sides of the packaging and the wording on top reads WWF (now WWE) RetroFest. On the back, is his bio such as height, weight, place of birth, signature moves and finishing move.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan stands roughly at 6 3/4″ tall and is inspired by his early 1990’s appearance that is now considered the Golden Age of Wrestling. Jim Duggan is offered in his iconic ring attire fabric shirt that has an image of him on the front, along with his name under it, with velcro in the back to slip it on and off. The shirt is mostly white with blue sleeves, and the image of him is nicely done with a great likeness. Once removed, he is in his blue wrestling shirt and trunks, with the American Flag stars and stripes on his back.
His knee pads are made of a soft plastic with the right one blue with stars, and the left one red and white stripes, and he is given white boots with American Flags on both sides.
His head sculpt is nicely done and has sculpted brown hair, beast and a mustache, and his tongue on hanging on the left side of his mouth. The details on the face look great especially the paint applications on the hair, tongue and eyes, and the wash of paint on his chest to indicate chest hair.
Included with Hacksaw is his iconic 2×4, an America Flag, and a crown so he can become King Duggan. The American Flag is somewhat fragile as it’s made of paper and not fabric. The crown is nicely done with great paint applications, but it may be a little tricky to place on his head. The 2×4 is best used in his left hand, and can be used against other wrestlers.
His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, double hinged knees, swivel boots/calves, and hinged rocker ankles.
Overall, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is an excellent figure and a great update to this iconic Legends, and this figure features a superior likeness with a great soft goods ring attire. Fans of 80’s and 90’s Golden Age of Wrestling won’t want to miss out on this one, as the memories of those days live on now with new WWE figures by Mattel.
