Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ Avengers: Endgame Ebony Maw & Thanos Figures Review

Hasbro’s newly released Marvel Legends 6″ Avengers: Endgame wave 1 includes Nighthawk, Citizen V, Hercules, Ebony Maw, Ronin, Captain America, Living Laser and Thanos as the build-a-figure. Avengers: Endgame hits theaters today, April 26th, 2019, and continues off where Avengers: Infinity War took off. Avengers: Endgame focuses on the surviving Avengers and their allies taking the war to Thanos to avenge the fallen in Infinity War.

Earlier this month, we shared a new PR box that Hasbro sent out of some of their Avengers: Endgame products currently on store shelves, including new 6″ Marvel Legends figures such as what you see here.

Thank you to Hasbro for providing their Marvel Legends 6″ Avengers: Endgame Ebony Maw and Thanos Figures for review.

Availability: April 2019

The figures are packaged in the standard window box, with artwork of the film, images of the character and a brief bio on the back. Except for Captain America, each figure comes with a part of Thanos as he’s shown in Avengers: Endgame.

Thanos is the build-a-figure being offered in this wave and is given an all-new sculpt with the updated armor as seen in Avengers: Endgame. Thanos stands at roughly 8 1/4″ tall and is mostly covered in armor, with the purple skin on his arms and head. The skin tone is exactly the same as the 3-pack offering released last year, which was a correction as he was more blue in the first release (see gallery). The armor is nicely detailed with various designs and patterns throughout the sculpt, and his head is mostly helmeted a similar design as the rest of the armor. The armor is painted mostly in a metallic gold with a metallic dark grey, and the Infinity Guantlet is painted mostly in bronze with the Infinity Stones painted in their unique colors. Thanos’ articulation includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles. He includes a duel-blade that he can hold in his right hand.

Ebony Maw completes the Black Order that’s loyal to Thanos and works to do his bidding, and this character didn’t appear in the original character series Infinity War in Marvel Comics in 1992, and was actually created in 2013. He’s a powerful telepath and telekinesis as seen in the film, and even has the ability of flight that makes him even more formidable. The figure has a great representation of the character and the likeness is pretty much spot on. He is sculpted in a dark and light grey suit with some gold trim around the color and down his chest, and the sculpted textures are a nice touch. The figure stands at roughly 7 1/4″ tall and has extended long arms, legs and a chest. His head sculpt is nicely done with a great likenesses and nicely done facial details, including the hair on the back of his head. The character had some great poses in the film, and because the figure has double-jointed elbows, ball hinged shoulders and swivel-hinged wrists you can recreate some of those. The rest of his articulation includes a ball jointed neck, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged wrist, ball jointed torso, ball jointed torso, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Overall, both Thanos and Ebony Maw are great figures with really nicely done film accuracy, sculpting and paint applications. Fans of the Avengers films, and comic goers everywhere should want to pick up this wave and build Thanos. These are currently available in stores, but we recommend purchasing a set or case assortment as some of the figures may be hard to come across otherwise.
