Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ Avengers: Endgame Captain America & Ronin Figures Review

Hasbro’s newly released Marvel Legends 6″ Avengers: Endgame wave 1 includes Nighthawk, Citizen V, Hercules, Ebony Maw, Ronin, Captain America, Living Laser and Thanos as the build-a-figure. Avengers: Endgame hits theaters today, April 26th, 2019, and continues off where Avengers: Infinity War took off. Avengers: Endgame focuses on the surviving Avengers and their allies taking the war to Thanos to avenge the fallen in Infinity War.

Earlier this month, we shared a new PR box that Hasbro sent out of some of their Avengers: Endgame products currently on store shelves, including new 6″ Marvel Legends figures such as what you see here.

Thank you to Hasbro for providing their Marvel Legends 6″ Avengers: Endgame Captain America and Ronin Figures for review.

Availability: April 2019

The figures are packaged in the standard window box, with artwork of the film, images of the character and a brief bio on the back. Except for Captain America, each figure comes with a part of Thanos as he’s shown in Avengers: Endgame.

Captain America is the only figure in the wave that does not come with a part to build Thanos, but he does come with his iconic shield. The figure shares the same body sculpt as the Hawkeye/Black Widow 2-pack currently at Target, which comes with extra heads of Ant-Man, Nebula and Iron Man. In the movie, this armoured suit is worn by all surviving members of the Avengers, including Nebula, and Hasbro has done a nice job capturing the detailed likeness. The armor is mostly painted in black with sculpted details, silver, and red, with the Avengers logo in black on the upper left side of his chest. His head sculpt is nicely done and has a decent likeness to Chris Evans, but it appears to have been hand sculpted over the “photo realistic” look that the Star Wars figures are getting. The head is mostly masked with his blue mask with a silver A on his forehead, and wings on the sides.

If you bought 2 sets of the Hawkeye/Black Widow 2-pack, You will be able to display four characters in their armoured suits, and it would be wise to purchase a second Captain America figure (Amazon.com currently has it for $18.84) that you can use for Iron Man’s head that also comes in the 2-pack. This would give you six characters from the film, and if you look at the basic line, Hulk, Thor and Rocket also comes in this suit to help round out more characters. As this is the 6″ Marvel Legends offering, it has much more detail and articulation compared to the basic 6″ line, which as most of you reading are aware.

The suit has a nice “team” appearance to it but we can’t stop thinking it reminds us of “The Hunger Games.” It’s an odd coincidence the suits shares some of the same colors and have a slight resemblance, and new team outfits does show that the Avengers mean business in taking the fight to Thanos.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Included with Captain America is his shield that is painted in red, grey and blue metallic deco.

Ronin, aka Hawkeye, gets a new costume and code name, and the figure is given a very detailed sculpt. The figure is sculpted in a zippered black and gold jacket with a removable hoodie, and features a strap around his chest that holds the sheaths for the swords on back. The jacket is secured to the body with a belt sculpted over it, and includes pouches and a gold belt buckle. The jacket and sheath are removable just like the hoodie, and he has a black shirt on underneath. The sleeves of the jacket have black and gold gauntlets, black gloves with gold on the palms. The legs also have some nicely done sculpted details such as straps sculpted on the upper parts, gold and black knee pads, and gold and black shin guards on the lower legs. There is also a non-removable dagger on the right side of the calf, which is in black. The shows are also in black and has some nicely done sculpted details to look realistic. The clothing is sculpted with realistic folds and features various textures on the jacket and knee pads. His head sculpt is nicely done and comes in a black and gold mask covering almost his entire face, with the exception of his eyes, which have some nicely done paint applications and these really look sharp. These details can be better seen when the hoodie is removed.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Included with Ronin is a long and short sword, and an extra hand sculpt that has a throwing star feature.

Overall, both Captain America and Ronin are great figures with really nicely done film accuracy, sculpting and paint applications. Fans of the Avengers films, and comic goers everywhere should want to pick up this wave and build Thanos. These are currently available in stores, but we recommend purchasing a set or case assortment as some of the figures may be hard to come across otherwise.
