The initial launch of Hasbro’s Power Rangers offerings are available now in stores and some online retailers, which includes new 6″ action figures in both the Lightning Collection and basic lines, Zoids, and roll play toys. Last week, we shared the PR box that Hasbro sent out that included some of these new offerings to valued press partners and outlets. This included almost a full selection of their offerings, minus the Lightning Collection that are of very similar style to the 6″ Star Wars figures with the “photo realistic heads,” highly articulated and painted.

Thank you to Hasbro for sending along their 6″ Basic Figures and 10″ Beast Morphers Zord Figure for review.

Availability: April 2019

The figures are packaged on a blister card with artwork from the show on the front and back, along with an image of the figure and some information on the back. The Zord is packaged in a window style box with artwork on the front, sides and back.

The Power Rangers basic assortment includes the Blue Ranger, Red Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Cybervillain Blaze, and Tronic to round out the first wave, with the second likely to include more of the core characters and villains.  The Beast X Morpher X roll play toy, also shown in the gallery, can be activated by inserting the keys that comes with these figures. These figures are of similar design and style to the 6″ basic Marvel figures that you see for the $9.99 price point, and includes character specific accessories.

The Red and Blue Rangers share the same figure sculpt and are painted in their respective colored outfits, and the Yellow Ranger has a female sculpt with a skirt that is made of soft plastic. Each of the Rangers are painted with a black belt, gold buckle, dark gray straps with a device on the left side, and their morphed on their right wrist. The figures are also painted with silver deco on the inner part of the arms, and the outer parts of the shirt (as well as the skirt for the Yellow Ranger). Their legs are painted in black, and their boots are also painted in their respective colors. The shirt and pants also have a sculpted texture over that gives it a nice touch. Each of their head sculpts are also unique, and it depends on the animal of their Megazord.

Tronic and Cybervillain Blaze are the villains in the assortment, and Tronic was the villain sent over to us in this assortment. Tronic is a nicely sculpted figure and is offered in his metallic pink suit with dark grey shoulder pads, with silver circular objects on the front and back of his sculpt. He also has a black belt with a silver belt buckle with a red circle at the center, and a V shaped silver pattern with a red circle on the bottom center of the vest as well as the right shoulder. The figure is also painted with dark grey gloves and boots. The head sculpt is nicely done and painted in a silver helmet with a dark grey, silver and red circular object on his forehead.

The articulation for the figures includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged hips, and swivel-hinged knees.

The Rangers includes their swords, which are all the same sculpt and deco, their blasters, which are unique to the individual, and the key to activate the Beast X Morpher X roll play toy. Tronic also includes a key, and blades/blasters.

The 10″ Beast Morphers Zord Figure is also more of a basic figure with limited articulation and also based on the current television show. The figure is primary in metallic red, gold and dark grey, with some silver on his face, arms and legs. This Zord is called on by the Red Ranger, which he calls the beast racer Zorn. The figure is packaged with the lower part of the legs needing assembly, The Zord has a great likeness to the television series, and has some nicely done sculpted details including the animal face on the chest. Included are a sword and an axe that are hollow on the back. His articulation includes a swivel head, swivel shoulders, swivel wrists, and swivel legs. Unfortunately, there is not an option to store the Red Ranger inside, which would have been kinda neat to have.

Overall, the 6″ basic figures and the Beast Morphers Zord are nicely done figures and a great initial launch of Hasbro’s Power Rangers line-up. Look for these in stores now, as well as the stores below:
