NECA Toys newly released Freddy Vs Jason – Ultimate Jason Figure is a must have for movie horror goers. This movie was a long time coming, and horror fans will recall that in the end of Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, Jason Voorhees and sent to the deepest bowels of hell to rot for eternity. His broken mask, which is partially buried in the dirt where he met his demise. Out of nowhere, you hear the laughter of Freddy Krueger and his clawed hand comes out of the dirt and pulls the mask into hell. This iconic scene remains a classic, and led the way as a stepping stone to the 2003 classic Freddy Vs Jason feature film. Since 1993, several attempts were made to bring these two iconic monsters together, but licensing issues and studio interference would derail each attempt before it was ever started. A full decade later, everything fell into place and fans were in for one of the most memorable horror films of all time. A sequel to this film, titled Freddy Vs Jason Vs. Ash (Williams, from Evil Dead) was planned but unfortunately did not happen. A comic book series took its place in 2007-2008, and was a 6-issue event that brought established characters/survivors from both A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th back, and introduced Ash Williams into the mix to go head to head with these iconic villains pitted against the hero from Evil Dead.
This new figure from NECA Toys is a much needed update to this version of Jason Voorhees as he was seen in Freddy Vs Jason, and joins the Ultimate line of horror icons.
Thank you to NECA Toys for providing their Freddy Vs Jason – Ultimate Jason Figure for review.

Jason Voorhees is an excellent figure and given an all new sculpt and updated from the 2004 release following the film. This new version is given the updated articulation that the older version didn’t have, as seen with all Ultimate figures released these days. This updated version is given all of the sculpted details, textures and high-end deco that fans are used too. This particular look is memorable being that it is very different than his Friday the 13th movie likenesses. Jason is sculpted in his jacket that is shredded and torn, and given great sculpted folds and a realistic likeness to the film. He is also a blue undershirt, with a tattered sweater, and oversized baggy pants and lifts in the soles of the shoes. Jason includes three different masks, each with nicely done paint deco and that bloody mask has the most painted detail. His left hand can also hold a Freddy head, which is a nice touch.
His head sculpt isn’t shown in the film, and is so well done that it definitely should have been included somewhere. The facial details, pieces of hair around the back, lumps, decaying teeth and other facial details look amazing. The design of the head is meant to resemble something like Frankenstein’s Monster, which is captured very well here. Since Jason was shown with the masks in the film, most fans may want to keep it on as this version of the head wasn’t shown in the film. A teddy bear is also included, which was not shown in the film, but comes from a behind the scenes promotional image of Jason Voorhees actor Ken Kirzinger sitting on set, holding a teddy bear.
Jason includes a standard mask, a scratched mask, a bloody mask, a machete, a bloody machete, a flame attachment, and a teddy bear.
Overall, Jason Voorhess is an incredible figure with a great likeness to the movie. The attention to detail, likeness and accessories really makes this offering a great figure that’s worthy of your collection.
