Thank you to Extreme-Sets for providing their Building 3.0 Pop-Up Diorama for review.

Availability: June 2019

The Building 3.0 Pop-Up Diorama includes four 24″ tall building walls that features boarded up windows, a garage with a loading dock, steel doors and a double door entry, all given a realistic artwork and design as if you were starring at a real building. Each of the individual bricks and window looks unique enough that no two appear to be the same. Some parts of the windows can be pushed out to insert the fans (4) that are also included.

The garage door has velcro on the back, and can be raised up as if it’s open, and the door has the number 14 painted. The loading down is a triangular piece that folds up and you can place it in front of the door for a realistic look. The downside here is that if the door is opened, you would need something that’s raised up so figures can step on the platform, otherwise your figures would be on ground level from the inside.

The steel doors look incredible detailed, including some rusty paint that makes it look even more realistic. The doors are made of a thinner piece of cardboard that reminds us of the cardboard used for the Vault, and the doors have some difficulty staying perfectly closed and tend to open and be uneven because of this. It may take some time to get it just right, and make sure that the entire piece is stable and on even ground.

The double doors can also open as seen with many other sets, and also have a realistic look and design totem. This includes blinds on top, posters and signs that are torn off and put on, and various other details such as a handle to open it that are all part of the design.

Each of the four walls can connect to create to giant 3D building pop-up diorama, that measures roughly 19″ x 24″ tall, making the one of the tallest sets ever to be released. The building does not have any interior artwork or design, and only focuses on the outer walls, roof and loading dock feature.

The roof is also amazingly detailed, and includes cement sides, and bricks around the edges. This part is harder to fold up and not as easy as you think, and required the use of tape to keep the sides together. Once you construct this, it’ll be hard to fold it back up into the box because of the tape, so you’ll want to keep the roof together and in a handy location once its assembled. The roof has two pieces that fold up and combine into what you see here. The roof can also rest on top of the panels, and figures can be placed on top for display and photography. Just a thought, but you can leave the roof off the building and use one or more of the panels are a backdrop, allowing people to think that this roof shown is on a shorter building.

Overall, Extreme-Sets have once again outdone themselves and this is truly an amazing set with a lot of great display, play and photography options. The artwork is amazing, great quality and we love loading dock and rooftop features. This is definitely something you need to own.
